Why My Vote is for Ted Cruz
Red State ^ | December 19, 2015 | TN Gal

Posted on 12/19/2015 11:00:14 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

At this point in the campaigns we all pretty much know where our preferred candidates stand on issues that mean the most to us as individuals. You know whether you and your candidate are in sync. I have no problem saying I’m in sync with Ted Cruz on the issues. But for me it’s more than just the issues this time. My vote will be cast for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% because of my absolute and utter loathing for Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 47%. A protest vote. A protest against one of my own kind, supposedly.

For awhile Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) 13%was the opposition. She and Senate cohort Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) 10% still don’t rank high in my book. But I’m honest enough to recognize they are fighting for their beliefs and values as much as I am fighting for mine. True, theirs are misguided but that’s a subject for another day....

“Personally I’d prefer another civil war and clean up/out America but that’s not going to happen any time soon.”

Don’t be too sure. :-)

Yes, I do. We have nothing worth protecting if we allow the ceaseless destruction of unborn children, the dissolution of God's design for the family, the open celebration of all that opposes God. Trump could build a mile-high wall made of titanium, and some tiny pestilence would sneak in and destroy us all anyway. We have nothing if we do not have God's blessing and protection. Period.

Therefore, while self-defense measures, a healthy economy, and the defeat of Islam are all essential to our survival, they are all secondary to the definition of who we are as a people, whether we stand so far from God as to assure our own destruction. Western civilization has sound foundations in divine law. Anyone, anyone, who works in disregard of those principles is putting my childrens' very lives at risk, and I take that very, very seriously.

Peace,

SR

You give him no credit for changing his position on abortion? I was once wishy washy on this but now think abortion is flat out murder of the worst kind.

I would not vote or support Trump if he had not changed but since he has and along with his other characteristics I think he is BY FAR the best we’ve seen in a very long time. It will take a confident and strong person to use the bully pulpit to force the cleaning out of D.C. Trump is that guy.

In general I agree with you, however time is short, thank you for taking the time to reply.

My first thought about Clinton was ... he's a too young, too cool, pretty boy hippy and I had reached an age at that time where I wanted the stability of a father figure

GHWB was my choice then, and I think he would have been a good influence on the American psyche

I've become obsessed lately about the genesis of things and our thoughts .... our "filters" .... As A Man Thinketh, So IS He

The thought processes of a younger man are, IMO, too (untested, unproved) idealistic and, at THIS stage of the re-engineered American psyche ... no longer a valid traditional American way to think

(I'm not going to get bogged down with a ton of examples other than a simple; ... If someone doesn't salute the flag or pledge allegiance to it (f'rinstance) .. it is because they have concluded ... they have thought through the subject ... and decided they would not)

How many younger people DO NOT have a secular, progressive basis for formulating their thoughts ?

As A Man Thinketh, So IS He

Donald Trump's age is an asset in my opinion and the ones that rear against his age are, again in my opinion, more progressive and an enemy of America than a patriot

I agree with Cruz for the SC ... set for life in a much more powerful influence than a temporary Pres or VP.

Bump. All these people planning Trump’s cabinet might want to check with him first.

Trump will use his influence and negotiating skills to build factories that actually MAKE SOMETHING AMERICAN, that will see a couple of thousand guys and gals going to work with lunchpails

Y'see ... THAT'S the subliminal thought and picture Americans see (remember) whenever they hear the word "jobs"

When I think of a job these days (only because I made a career change in 2000), I think of driving a truck .... before that it was 11 years as a salesman and before that it was factory or construction

What does a kid out'a high school envision when he wants a "job"

I promise you ... it is some service sector or government position and NOT a blue collar, get something done job.

How? Executive orders? More power to the liberals at the NLRB? More payola to the unions?

I’d rather see Sessions as Attorney General than Cruz...let Ted get some more seasoning in the Senate.

I am glad he has switched his position on abortion.

I do question the character of someone who was pro abortion after 60 years of age. Was it a cynical move to run as a conservative?

Same with some other issues.
