Why My Vote is for Ted Cruz
Red State ^ | December 19, 2015 | TN Gal

Posted on 12/19/2015 11:00:14 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

At this point in the campaigns we all pretty much know where our preferred candidates stand on issues that mean the most to us as individuals. You know whether you and your candidate are in sync. I have no problem saying I’m in sync with Ted Cruz on the issues. But for me it’s more than just the issues this time. My vote will be cast for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% because of my absolute and utter loathing for Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 47%. A protest vote. A protest against one of my own kind, supposedly.

For awhile Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) 13%was the opposition. She and Senate cohort Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) 10% still don’t rank high in my book. But I’m honest enough to recognize they are fighting for their beliefs and values as much as I am fighting for mine. True, theirs are misguided but that’s a subject for another day....

Trump has been pro abortion within the past 8 years. I have to question his character if he hadn’t figured out abortion until after he was 60. He has flipped flopped more than Kerry over the years.

He has done. Good job raising IllegalImmigration this cycle. But I want a candidate I can Trust. That would be Cruz.

I’m 100% for Ted Cruz but saying if it ain’t him it’s nothing then there’s a problem. If anyone else gets the nomination and you don’t support we’re back where we were in 2012 4 more years of Obama only Hillary in 2016.

Dog shxt is better than a liberal. I’d like to see my grand kids have some sort of a country left.

Romney sucked but we’d better off had he made it vice the muslim in the White House.

I'm not voting for Trump and I'm far from alone on that. Have all the "problems" with it you like, it is what it is.

Trump’s an ass and the only thing he’s done right is bring up what a lot of folks are thinking in layman’s terms and put problems on the table where they belong. I wouldn’t want him for a president by any means but he’d still be better than Clinton.

So what I’m hearing is if it’s not Cruz, Clinton, Sanders or O’Malley is better.

"Ted Cruz is the smarter choice. He's not perfect -- he's conservative."

Stop with the he's conservative thing, we have moved way passed "Conservative" versus "Liberal". The battle now is to kept some semblance of the Republic we used to be.

Job 1 is securing the border and repatriating those living here illegally. Enforce the law should not even be open for debate. That it is just shows how badly the uniparty has governed ever since HW Bush became president.
Job 2 is rebuilding American manufacturing and returning middle class jobs to the USA. That should not be political either.
Job 3 is joining with Russia and united all of Western Civilization and crushing radical Islam again that should not be political.

If Trump can do any one of these three (Job 1 first please) he'll be a great President.

On all three of the above Cruz is wobbly, Trump is solid.

This election it's Americans vrs Globalists and I am not sure which side TPA voting Ted Cruz is on. Take no chances vote Enforce the law Build the wall Trump.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100%

I'd venture a guess that Trump would be quite a bit less than 100%.

Of course the Trumpets are sure enjoying the fact that Trump has no legislative record to pan, and they are hiding behind that.

Me too. I think I puke a little in my mouth every time I see a Trumpet here putting Cruz as VP. If Ted did do that, I’d be very disappointed in him. Why waste the best constitutional mind in Washington to the menial task of attending dignitary funerals?

I just checked the FR home page, and, Yes, it's still there.

Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

Pinging The Boss to ask if a change in that is contemplated

If you think this election is just another Republican vrs Democrats labels election you have not been paying attention. The Marxists Globalist are eating our lunch. Europe is being invaded as are we. It is survival time for Western Civilization. Rather then picking out a signal sentence you didn’t like you might try reading and commenting on the content of my post.

Nominate Trump and it won't matter what you hear. I won't be threatened into voting into his lying ass any more than I was threatened into voting for Romney.

I have been paying enough attention to confirm that conservatism has become irrelevant to some folks here.

conservatism & liberalism are more than just labels. They have come to describe the difference between people who will preserve and strengthen the Judeo-Christian foundations of western civilization, versus those who are trying to destroy those foundations and move us to one or another false utopia. Ignoring that distinction, because times are desperate, is one of the ways we let the bad guys back us into bad decisions. Voting for a strong leader, without regard to where he will lead us, is insanity.

Peace,

SR

You are mistaken is secure the border conservative?
Is enforcement are immigration laws conservative?
Is rebuilding our manufacturing base conservative?
Is winning the war with radical Islam conservative?

These days the above is conservative but it should not be. These are things every patriotic American knows we need to get done. Labels are meaningless in this upside down world of ours. Right is wrong, Wrong is right. Paul Ryan is a conservative so is Mitch McConnell, labels don't count any longer but issues still do count. It us vrs the globalist uniparty and the uniparty is winning.

" If anyone else gets the nomination and you don’t support we’re back where we were in 2012"

Well, that's unfortunately what it's come down to. It seems that voting for an "R" got us what, exactly? If the GOP refuses to produce even somewhat conservative leaders, they deserve to go extinct. Most of us have had quite enough of the uniparty. I'm pretty much done voting for liberals because I'm expected to. McCain/Bush/Romney, enough already. Heck, I'd be willing to bet a paycheck that Rubio or Carson would sign every stinking liberal bill that crossed their desk, and there will be plenty of those.

Cruz or bust, that's where I'm at and that's where most people I talk to are at.

Ted Cruz is a natural born prosecutor not an administrator. He will be a kick azz Attorney General if only Trump will offer it to him.

In the past, we have had some differences on some matters. I am pleased to see that we are in agreement that appeals to Utopia (explicit or implicit) are anathema both to conservatism or (small r) republicanism.

Agree the majority of the R’s is nothing more than liberal lite but baby steps in the right direction is better than falling off a cliff and giving up.

Personally I’d prefer another civil war and clean up/out America but that’s not going to happen any time soon.
