NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has been criticized by his rivals over his comments about minority groups, said on Wednesday he is the rare Republican who could win a sizable portion of the black vote.
Trump, the Republican front-runner, spoke in South Carolina at a meeting of the Greater Charleston Business Alliance, which supports minority businesses and is affiliated with the South Carolina African American Chamber of Commerce.
He cited a recent poll from the firm SurveyUSA that showed him getting support from 25 percent of black respondents in a match-up against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. Trump said that shows he could win the general election.
"Generally, Republicans do not do well with African-Americans," Trump said.
"I have a lot of friends, African-Americans in New York, they say, 'You're going to get most of the vote.' I was actually disappointed with the 25 percent," he said....

I doubt that Trump can get much of the black vote as most of them have already been bought and paid. Here's the thing, and I know from experience and from listening to rap music.
One of the many things that the black underclass love is money and being a boss. Trump fits that image to a T. He is friends with Sean Combs, and he is name-dropped in dozens of hip-hop songs.
That image of power, money, and getting what you want plays huge in the black communities. Which explains why Scarface's movie poster is up on every wall. Trump is a Bo$$, he totally represents what the black underclass wants without coming across as a total tight-@ss white guy like Bush.

To put it in more simplistic terms, they like the sideshow that is trump.
Never underestimate the stupidity of Americans. They’re about as deep as an oil slick on a highway. And stupidity knows no race.

I could see it happening. The premier black issue is immigration (legal and illegal). It reduces black voting power (given higher black fertility rates), pushes blacks out of jobs and reduces wage rates in the jobs that are available to them. The average black person would prefer to have a job to accepting welfare. Wage competition from immigrants means that welfare benefits are superior to the wages many can get. So significant numbers of blacks stay on welfare, and we get the social pathologies that come with welfare recipients with plenty of time on their hands to pursue side incomes on the wrong side of the law.
Since both parties have traditionally favored more immigration, for different reasons, blacks have sided with the party that supports increased welfare benefits - the Democrats, over the party that has continuously attacked said benefits. Any GOP candidate who favors limiting or cutting immigration stands to get a good chunk of the black vote, provided he frames it correctly, and stays away from attacking welfare bennies.

Nope. I'm voting for Cruz and I do not oppose Trump. Bashing the man leading the way for Conservatives in the Presidential race like the RINO establishment and other left-wingers are is going to earn you a one-way ticket to ZOTsville, Mr. Politically Correct Fish.

Ditto your comments. Hands-down Trump is attracting more black voters than the Republican Party (I spit on it’s grave) has ever seen.

Now, in the real election, Trump might get 25% of the Black Vote, but the Democrat will get 85-90% Is that the "new math" I've been hearing about? 25% + 85% = 100%????

Any Republican who can get more than 5% of the black vote will win. But ........... but ......... BUT!!! What about the Hispanic vote that the Democrats keep telling the Republicans they need to win an election?!

Is that the "new math" I've been hearing about? 25% + 85% = 100%???? It does look wrong, assuming a premise that 1 man = 1 vote. It starts to make more sense when you begin to question that premise.
