Valley Latinos show partisan presidential split – except on Trump
The Fresno Bee ^ | September 12, 2015 | John Ellis

If there’s one thing that unites central San Joaquin Valley Latinos of all political persuasions, it’s a near-universal revulsion to the presidential candidacy of Donald Trump.

Beyond that, local Hispanics are much like the rest of the nation: Their presidential preferences break down largely along partisan political lines.

Democrats generally like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, although Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has his fans. Republicans are more varied, but are very much in the red column. There are supporters of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, former neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

But, as he has with the entire GOP presidential campaign to date, Trump dominates all. And in this case, mostly not in a good way.

“I would never vote for this guy, Trump, absolutely never,” says Republican businessman and former Fresno Latino Rotary President David Leon. “I think he is out of his mind.”

Trump has successfully wooed scores of GOP voters with his brash talk and politically incorrect diatribes, but he has also offended Latinos with some pointed comments about Mexican immigrants and his run-in at a news conference with popular Spanish-language journalist Jorge Ramos....

There you are.

How do reports such as this square with Trump polling higher with Hispanics than any Republican in recent memory?

Legal Hispanics.

The sociopaths/psychopaths like to pretend that illegal immigration/immigrants are the same thing as legal immigration/immigrants.

The “media” is doing everything they can think of to knock Trump out. This is just more liberal BS. I guess they aren’t looking forward to 01-20-2017 when Trump tells their king, “Barry! You’re fired!” That’s going to make a extremely popular YouTube clip although Barry getting the boot may start the Benghazi mortar platoons to stage another “protest”. He’s the best friend they have.

>> It appears Trump’s reaction when Ramos tried to question him at a news conference also is viewed as offensive by Hispanics of all political stripes <<

I am calling BS on this, BUT if Hispanics cant understand why the Latino supremacist was given a timeout by Trump then they are the ones that are intolerant.
I am offended by Ramos, and La Raza can go kiss my azza.

“I want illegal immigration to stop,” says Rios, “It hurts our economy. Build (the border wall) as tall as you can.”

(Rios' father immigrated to the U.S. legally and his family’s U.S. roots go back more than 100 years on his mother’s side).

Please read the entire article for a full understanding.

Rios is in the minority among local Latinos. Most seem to dislike Trump, although like much of the nation they can’t stop talking about him.

I suspect a lot more like Trump than are willing to admit publically. As for the rest, they are part of the problem.

The other day I was thinking about the swearing in ceremony of the president where the new president is sworn in by the chief justice while the old president is there to witness it.

It will be delicious to watch Obama as he hands power to Trump who will totally undo all his stupid ideas. It will be incredible to watch Oabama’s face and his wife’s for that matter.

See Bradley effect

the theory proposes that some voters who intend to vote for the white candidate would nonetheless tell pollsters that they are undecided or likely to vote for the non-white candidate. It was named after Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, an African-American who lost the 1982 California governor's race despite being ahead in voter polls going into the elections.

Like any Republican had a chance with these "voters" anyway.

They wouldn't vote for the two biggest pushers of Amnesty.

I don’t expect Trump to do too hot in the CENTRAL VALLEY OF CALIFORNIA, where the entire economy depends on Illegal Immigrant labor (drive SR99 some time if you doubt me).

I wouldn’t judge all Hispanics by a small, special-interest, segment of them.

These are CA Mexicans (vs Latinos from other Spanish speaking countries) and from a farm intense area of CA. Gonna be far more illegals there than most places.

And I want Trump to say "Barak, you're FIRED" at the end of the ceremony.

HT to Behind The Blue Wall ...

Posted on 9/12/2015, 3:18:16 PM by Behind the Blue Wall

Of course there are a lot of good reasons behind Trump's rise, but I submit that whether it's a result of his upbringing, or living and working for his entire life in New York City, or assessing and critiquing contestants on his television show, Donald Trump KNOWS that he is not racist, and being secure in that knowledge allows him to do a number of things that nobody else in politics seems to be able or willing to do:*.:

1. Speak the truth as he sees it without fear of being labelled a racist. Most obviously, he knows that one can simultaneously hold no particular ill-will towards people of Hispanic descent and at the same time take a "hard-line" on immigration. The Left has everyone convinced that the desire for regulated immigration is motivated by hatred for Hispanics and nothing else. Trump's obviously and loudly not buying it.

2. Trump knows that others, i.e. the base, who see the same truths that he sees are also not racist. Thus, he speaks to them with respect and appreciation, as opposed to calling them "heartless" "crazies". People naturally respond favorably.

3. Trump is able to directly confront and battle political correctness, which can be boiled down to a speaking in such as way as to avoid saying anything that could remotely be construed as racist, with violations severely policed by the outrage machine, which is of course controlled by the Left. Trump is free to speak his mind freely without fear of the outrage machine.

4. Trump is not afraid to enter the mainstream media "lion's den" where other Republicans dare not tread for fear that they will be tricked into saying something racist. Trump fearlessly confronts all sorts of mainstream media, multiple times daily.

5. Trump advocates FOR America as against its competitors and enemies. The fact that our trade and diplomatic "deals" benefit others at our expense is a feature not a failing. The elites are embarrassed about America's relative strength in the world and seek a more "equal" world. Trump is a full-throated patriot who wants America to win, even if that means other nations lose. He's far from alone in this.

6. Trump doesn't pander, which is actually patronizing to those minorities who respect themselves. Martin O'Malley apologizing for saying that "all lives matter" and Yeb Bush calling illegal entry "an act of love" might seem to make them "sensitive" to minority concerns, but it's not winning either of them any votes. Trump treats minority voters no different than other voters, and that includes telling them the truth as he sees it, even if their "leaders" don't like it. And he still expects to win their votes.

7. Trump won't be cowed by minority activists. Bernie Sanders gave over the microphone at his own rally to Black Lives Matter; Trump would've fought to hold on to it. Trump threw Jorge Ramos out of his press conference because he failed to wait his turn to ask a question. Trump will not give anyone a "pass" by virtue of their minority status; everyone has to play by the same rules.

I could go on, but I'll end here by saying that the Left and the GOPe are throwing everything they have at Trump because he is a mortal threat to one of their most important rackets: the fear of being labelled a racist.

*Note: In the interest of brevity, I'm going to just address racism here, but the point is probably equally valid as it relates to sexism and other forms of alleged bigotry such as xenophobia, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc.
