Donald Trump is not only expanding his lead in the Republican presidential race. According to a new CNN/ORC poll out Tuesday, the real-estate tycoon has built out a dominating lead on two of the issues most important to Republican voters.
A walloping 45% of respondents said Trump was the best candidate to improve the US economy. The next closest contender was Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, who had a mere 8% say the same about his potential stewardship.
The core of Trump's campaign platform is based off of his opposition to illegal immigration and his heated — and sometimes controversial — rhetoric describing it. And Republican voters seem to be responding: 44% of them told CNN that Trump was the best candidate to handle the issue.
None of Trump's primary rivals came close.

I think the core of his campaign is international trade policy. The immigration issue just sort of took on a life of it's own. But Trade is what got me listening to him.
That Amendment was twisted by the looney left to bring in numbers for the welfare rolls who would then largely become VOTERS FOR THE DEMOCRAT LEFT!! It's late but not too late to come to our senses! Trump is leading the way!! And, hey, he has all the right enemies!
Foreign trade & cost of welfare to illegals are twin brothers, hurting hard working middle class Americans.
But it is NOT hurting rich donors of other 16 candidates. Those rich donors love the cheap labor express.
Dick, my biggest worry is, if Trump falters, I see no other independently rich person capable of taking on the Washington Cartel for several decades to come. It is now or never. I hope sensible Americans understand this. But I will not hold my breath.

Americans want America the way they knew it not the way the establishment wants it.

Cruz would be a phenomenal presence on SCOTUS for 35-40 years. As president, for maximum 8 years, the congress critters will not cooperate.

Exactly; give me back the America of my childhood - with Presidents that actually served in the military and love their nation, with opponents in Congress who know that there are certain lines that you don't cross, EVER, because they ALSO love their nation, where the news media has certain lines that they won't cross, because they know that they are also Americans, and that any harm to America is harm to them and their families.
Yeah, I know: "BZZZZZZZZ, time to wake up for work, tax slave!"
