Trump Torpedoes Paul, Dominates In Polls

Donald Trump holding his own in a new Fox News poll, establishment candidates Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and Marco Rubio all are losing traction.

Senator Rand Paul’s (R-KY) campaign has collapsed, allies indicted for fraud.

Mr. Trump is continuing to dominate with 25% support nationally while Dr. Ben Carson, is running 2nd at 12%. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is 3rd at 10%. Those findings mirror recent polls in Iowa and elsewhere.

Jeb Bush has place 9% for a 4th place finish, dropping from 15% and 2nd place in a Fox News poll conducted earlier this month, before the first GOP presidential debate.

Scott Walker, the Wisconsin governor, is tied for 5th, at 6% — down from 9% earlier this month.

In the new Fox News poll, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is tied with Walker for 5th at 6%. They’re followed by former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina at 5%, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Sen. Marco Rubio at 4%, and then New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who both are at 3%.

The poll was conducted on 11-13 August. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Senator Rand Paul’s campaign is struggling to keep up with his rivals in fundraising, and 2 of his political allies running an outside super PAC supporting his candidacy were recently indicted on campaign-finance fraud charges. Significant plunges in polling correspond.

In a powerful statement responding to Sen. Paul, Mr. Trump took him to task for running for reelection to the Senate at the same time he’s campaigning for President.

“I feel sorry for the great people of Kentucky who are being used as a back up to Senator Paul’s hopeless attempt to become President of the United States, weak on the military, Israel, the Vets and many other issues. Senator Paul has no chance of winning the nomination and the people of Kentucky should not allow him the privilege of remaining their Senator,” Donald Trump said.

Mr. Trump further called Paul’s operation a “total mess” and said the Senator should leave the race.

“Rand should save his lobbyist’s and special interest money and just go quietly home,” he declared. “Rand’s campaign is a total mess, and as a matter of fact, I didn’t know he had anybody left in his campaign to make commercials who are not currently under indictment!”

Trumpeting for Trump.

Have a terrific week.

It makes no sense either way. You want Senator Paul to not seek re-election with a razor thin Senate majority?

Potentially hand over an incumbent seat to Grimes or someone worse if his Presidential bid doesn't succeed?

He's supposed to quit because of polls before a ballot has been cast?

What party do you support?
