Rand Paul has turned almost his full attention, it seems, to warning the populace that nominating Donald Trump as the Republican Presidential Candidate would be disastrous for the party and guarantee a loss. (Notably, during the debate Thursday night, Trump said he wouldn’t rule out an Independent run if he fails to get the nomination, and many say that this, too, would ensure a GOP loss, by dividing the party.) Paul has spent time over the past two days warning his followers that Trump cannot be president, and that a vote for him as the GOP candidate is tantamount to a vote for Hillary Clinton as president.
Thursday night, following the debate, Rand Paul began posting on social media, calling for Republicans to back away from Donald Trump. He began with this clip from the beginning of the debate, in which Trump refuses to say that he wouldn’t attempt an Independent run, even if it would ensure that the Democratic candidate would win the presidential race, and Paul calls him out for “buy[ing] and sell[ing] politicians” and “hedging his bets.”(continued)

I saw a video of Rand and another Congress person, I wanna say King, but am not sure. They were eating at a table together and a couple of “dreamers” came up and started advocating for amnesty. Yes this was being filmed. Rand grabbed his plate and left - the coward that he is while the other gentleman got up and engaged them in conversation, taking the opposite position than the Illegal aliens. I shall never forget that & that is why Rand will not ever get my vote.
What if Trump is the nominee? I don’t see Rand backing him.

True, they all took that pledge. Politics is a rough and tumble business, and they all want to live at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. This is the just weeding out those who don’t belong. They will snip and bite at each other - it’s part of the game. Paul thinks because he was ahead of Hillary in 5 state polls that he can win. Those were probably his dad’s loonies voting.

I hate that desperate and manipulative argument. Hillary gives us Hillary. Over on the right, vote your conscience and then it is what it is.

IMO, Jeb Bush will give us Hillary. Huckabee will give us Hillary. Kasich will give us Hillary. Carson, RAND, and Christie, too.
To me there are only two I see who would have a chance to win......I’m more interested in seeing to it that Jeb Bush doesn’t even get to the point of being “up against Hillary” at all.
