If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.
TOPICS: Parties; Polls

I'm not at all ready to declare, but if I had to vote today it would be Scott Walker. He faced down the unions and actually accomplished important reforms.
Supreme Court? Not a clue after the John Roberts betrayals. Maybe the guys who fled Jurassic World could clone Scalia.

I remember those FR polls. IIRC, they assessed the results by FReepers and by guests.
I questioned Jim and John when they quit those polls. But I don’t know why they quit them. I found them instructive.

When I’m asleep the newly elected administration consists of Antonin Scalia/Tony Perkins.
Although I’m of the Santorum, Cruz, Jindal persuasion, my past voting history keeps me from being too optimistic. Neither President Pat Buchanan, President Alan Keyes, nor President Tom Hoefling came to fruition. Still I think that a President Mitt Romney or a President John McCain would have been scarcely better—just a slightly slower trip on the handbasket.
I still hold a slim glimmer of hope for a President Cruz. I think that a Cruz/Jindal ticket might be too geographically isolated. Perhaps a Cruz/Santorum ticket might work.

If Cruz drops out, it’s the next logical choice.

Trump and Palin!
I am sooo angry at the way she was treated. A lovely, smart woman who didn’t play gotcha well enough with that awful Katie Couric.
I blame McShame too.... because they probably micro managed her into a nervous breakdown.
Wouldn’t you love to see her even as press secretary.. she could get her own back!

No, I didn't suggest that. I said that FR used to run polls on this forum which I think many folks liked because they were private, i.e. you just voted and one's choice didn't show in public. The results were posted after the poll closed.
I think it was management that was sponsoring the various polls. But I guess the PTB didn't want to continue the polls....and they disappeared.

aren’t you afraid of Cruz WIFE?
She’s Goldman Sachs to her bones... you don’t survive that without permanent damage to your soul.d
I love Ted, but the big donor and the wife??? — smells too much like another set up for disappointment.
