Oh, boo-hoo. The elites might not get to pick both major party nominees this time. I was only eight at the time, but we knew a lot of people who voted for Wallace.

The amusing thing is that Trump could actually win 30 of the state primaries, with the rest split among five candidates, and still lose the convention because of the VIP/special delegate rule (#13). They’d ensure he doesn’t win. By doing so....it would tick enough right-wing voters to just stay home and Hillary would win.

Still, you can also trust Trump will go too far.

Maybe.

Trump is catching an emotional wave of anger that people feel toward the government, but Trump is a cerebral guy too. You don't make billions unless you're smart. Trump is smart. So the emotional side of his campaign is just part of the picture.

And as a Plan B -- If Trump flames out by over-playing the outrage and anger, we have Cruz who is more politically savvy, a very smart guy, and just about the best debater in the world.

If Trump doesn't go the distance, he will at least prepare the ground for Cruz to win it all. Full disclosure: Cruz is my #1 and Trump is my #2.

My aunt who lived in Atlanta, GA, actually met Wallace, and said that in person, he was quite charismatic.

As a businessman, Trump had to hold his nose and do unpleasant things to stay afloat.

And he was forced to hold his tongue.

Now as a candidate, Trump can say all the things he was thinking about lowlife politicans back then.

He's been unleashed....free to be....must feel good.

These people are so clueless and smug. They really do not deserve to earn a living in this field. Sure, just compare him to george wallace or eugene mccarthy. It is articles like this that are so simplistic and yet off the mark that gives trump appeal. The author talks about pandering? The republican base has been pandered to for 30 years. This author will never grasp it.

JMHO...it's like the author "gets it" but still has a mad compulsion to spin it to the company line.

Why nothing about Reagan, who's probably the best comparison to the Trump phenomena? Oh, shocker....Stephanopolous just gave an honest, objective appraisal. Has hell frozen over???

Of course none of this has to do with people tired of Obama and socialism. It is the lower intellectuals fighting against what is good for them.

Pray America is waking

The masses have always craved bold, strong leadership.

Hitler appealed to that craving, rising to power from war-torn Germany to lead a nation to the brink of world domination.

Trump and Cruz both appeal to the same desire. Neither one will be a Hitler, but, like Hitler, neither has a real track record beyond their speeches.

When you look close, you see disturbing signs. Trump’s support of abortion, liberals and gay marriage. Cruz’s support for Iran, TPA and H1-B visas.

Would either be better than Obama? Yes, but our standards should not be that low.

Would either accomplish much beyond their speeches? Nobody knows for sure. Look at Obama....nice speeches, no real accomplishments.

Neither Trump nor Cruz have shown an ability to bring people together. Like Obama or Hitler, both have a “my way or no way” mindset.

Reagan had true leadership because he brought people to his cause by explaining (in very simple terms) why he was right.

Cruz has some of this talent, but has not employed it in his role in the Senate. I would like to see 8 years of a Governor Cruz before I pass judgement on him.

Trump may have written “The Art of the Deal” but his negotiations were typically with only a handful at a time, not with 535 at a time.

I guess this “author” is trying to insinuate that those wanting a closed boarder are racist.

Why else use Wallace as an example?

If Trump continues to run against the Media he will win. He doesn't even need to concern himself wit the other Lilliputian RINO candidates. Stay on message and keep hammering the media. That is the winning formula.

The Leftist Media runs this country not the lemmings in the UniParty.

I hate the Media. Even worse than I hate Democrats.

“Still, you can also trust Trump will go too far.”

The writer is clueless. In this day and age, how far is “too far”? Trump could go “too far” 10 times a day and still not catch up with how many times we have been squelched and demonized by the left. Add to that the number of times the Republicans have harmed us, either by blatantly selling us out or simply standing by and not taking a stand.

Trump is saying what we’ve wanted to say for a decade. I say, “Keep it up!”

If you READ BETWEEN THE LINES you can see the FEAR this guy has of Trump and what Trump represents.

Robert Kennedy was so damn Socialist that even Stalin would have trouble matching him. Yet many of his voters drifted over to Wallace, who was anything but Socialist. They know the same will happen with Trump - there are MILLIONS of fed-up white voters (hence my tagline and profile page) that play both sides. They voted for Obama out of guilt and because they thought that Obama would end racial strife, and instead they find themselves lectured to more and more - by the people they voted for. They’re ready to flip.

What that means today is that Democrats can PUBLICLY say that Trump is their dream candidate, given his negatives - but privately, as this article shows, they knew they are looking at the possibility of a landslide election going against them if Trump can get the Republican nomination.

...and the only people left to stop Trump is the RNC, Rove, RINOs, and ultimately us - and they DO NOT control us, it is our choice as to whether to do the dirty work for the left, or not.

This left wing hacked shows the deep hatred and fear the leftist media operatives have for Trump.
He has ripped open the phony facade of the DC political and media amoral so he smears away by comparing Wallace a Dem who had little true nation wide appeal to Trump a household name.

Left wing-haters like this human garbage see the era of PC is over which is the only environment radical leftist like Barry can survive in.

It’s really quite simple to explain Trump’s popularity.

Both parties have made it clear they will not represent the 65% of the citizen who want the illegal alien inundation stopped.
The Democrats are representing the illegal aliens.
The GOP represents the employers of illegal aliens.

No one is representing the citizens.

Trump stepped into that vacuum.

It is amazing the authors or such pieces cannot - will not related to nearly 7 dark years of obama and that we are lashing out at the lack of leadership to make sure this dark period ENDS.

Any way they can these jerks will diminish our intent - our goal - our standards — we are just a bunch of leaderless bumpkins ...

Throw this article in the trash.

Since Trump and Cruz has had a private meeting and since Trump has contributed to Cruz’s campaign fund... I Think Trump and Cruz will make a pact to simultaneously announce — about one month to 6 weeks before the first Primary vote that each would pick the other for VP - depending on who wins the other would be the VP pick.

This would set off a firestorm of support from the Religious Right and Conservatives / Tea Parties and Moderates and Middle and everyone in between... UNITE and get rid of the hideous legacy of obama and the specter of having have a Hillary for POTUS...

And if they were smart they would announce that their opponents in the Primaries would be the Primary Pool from which they would both pick the Cabinet officers and White House staff and advisors ...

This would send a signal to all reasonable Americans that the dark days of obama and the sewer of Hillary ARE DONE AND OVER...
