Fiorina says 90+ percent chance she’s running in 2016
Fox News ^ | March 29, 2015 | Fox News

Former CEO and potential Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said Sunday the probability she’ll formally start a 2016 campaign is “higher than 90 percent” and that she will likely announce in early April or mid-May. . . . Fiorina was consistent in her criticism about Clinton’s legacy as secretary of state, saying, “flying is an activity, not an accomplishment.”

As other posters have pointed out, Fiorina will take more votes from Jeb than others. So what is bad about her jumping in? Who can attack Hillary without being accused of sexism except a female candidate?

Please read all the posts in this thread. You will find good answers to questions you raise, and your questions are prescient IMO.

Nope, I say spend your cash to good use Carly. She certainly has many millions to spare. I love her jabs at Hillary. She can pound away at Hillary and never be accused of sexism. But it is also true, Carly has 90+% chance of NOT being nominated.

I think Fiorina’ s candidacy would be worth it just in taking pot shots at Hillary!

This is why the GOP needs her in a very serious way. We all need to hope she enters the race. She won’t win, but she knows she can help. I think it’s darn respectable of her to do this.

Probably true, but no one can win governor of California on a republican ticket in the next decade.

Possible. But then, perhaps Californians are getting Moonbeam-weary just as the whole country is Obama-weary.

She was impressive in her interview with Chris Wallace this morning. I will look hard at her as the race gets rolling.

The next California Governor, most likely, will be Antonio Villaraigosa or Gavin Newsom.

God help us all (although I work in Alaska now)

Yes, I saw most of that interview by Wallace who can be a prick with republican candidates. I thought Fiorina answered all his attack questions with aplomb.

But I am still not looking at her as eventual nominee. My take is she will be extremely useful to GOP in attacking Hillary as a woman.

So I am grateful to Fiorina for spending a lot of her personal fortune to help GOP. She knows she has no chance of winning nomination.

The dependent class in Cali is so large now, the leftist democrats have a lock on Cali for at least a decade.

Back in 1999 my wife worked in a medical doctor’s office, and she said half of patients were on Medi-Cal (California version of Medicaid). I imagine it is even worse now.

The REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT may be losing control, given the number of RINOs that now seem to be populating the field. On the conservative side, you have Cruz (of course), clearly at the top, followed by Walker (in my book), then Cotton, and then some others.

But the RINOs (Jeb, I-Carley, and arguably Rubio, Huckster, Ms. Linsey, and probably others) are pretty numerous now. Rove will have a tough time getting all of them to drop for Jeb...or maybe someone else.

“A female Santorum. Losing your local election doesn’t mean you will SURELY do better on a national stage.”

Good point — but at least Santorum actually won a couple senatorial elections and served 12 years before losing in 2006 — a very difficult year for a conservative in a Blue state.

Carly has never served a day in elected office and her record at HP is not exactly stellar. I really don’t know on what basis she thinks she’s qualified to run for POTUS. It’s clearly angling to be the VP attack dog on Hillary. But there are already elected female Republicans that could fill that role — such as Haley in SC or Martinez in NM. Maybe I’m missing something, but I fail to see what Carly brings to the table.

That is a good thing..more RINO’s the better to divide the RINO voters.

In 2012 Ricky and Newty fought to the bitter end, clearing path for the lone remaining RINO, Mitt.

Haley & Martinez will not be on national TV in GOP presidential debates, where the TV audience will be much larger. Me thinks Fiorina is going to help republicans a lot by constantly jabbing Hillary every chance she gets on national TV. My gut feeling is, during the debates, Fiorina will focus her attacks on Hillary.

If she indeed does that, republicans owe her big time. You always need to think strategically. Of course Fiorina won’t win the nomination. But that is looking at it with blinders on.
