Both national and swing-state polls are beginning to tighten in the presidential race between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney. It's a signal that an expected Romney bump is starting to take shape after his consensus win in the first presidential debate on Wednesday.
Polls that track both national and swing state voting have shown nothing but bad news for the president over the last couple of days.
Here's a sampling of the national polls:
Gallup: Romney is starting to close in on Obama, trailing by only 3 points in the seven-day rolling average. And that average only reflects two days of surveys post-debate, so the full effect won't be known until next Wednesday.
Rasmussen: Rasmussen has had wild swings and tends to be Republican-leaning this election, but Romney holds a 2-point advantage here.
Reuters/Ipsos: Here, the race has tightened from a 6-point Obama lead pre-debate to only a 2-point lead on Friday. But Saturday didn't provide any further bounce for Romney in the online survey.
And in swing states:
Florida: Two polls from Rasmussen and We Ask America found Romney in the lead here on Friday by 2 and 3 points, respectively. Both polling firms tend to lean Republican.
Virginia: The same two firms again, leaning Republican found Romney with 1- and 3-point leads, respectively....

In retrospect, it’s not so amazing. Obama has been protected by a carefully crafted, rigorously maintained, and totally unquestioned “illusion” of infallibility and invulnerability.
That’s gone now. The emperor’s naked butt is showing, and it’s not a pretty sight. All the kings horses ass’s in the media are not going to recreate that shell.
Everyone agrees that Obama has to win the next one. I don’t think he can. I just do not think it is possible. The public smells blood in the water now, and they will be watching every twitch, every glance, every breath he takes.
Even worse (from his point of view), the MSM has really been taking it in the shorts this election cycle, so they are not going to be able to get away with pitching him softballs.
The simple truth is that Barry is not good enough. He never was. Call him a Potemkin president, a straw man, a paper tiger, chose your own metaphor, he is an illusion and always has been. Stripped of TelePrompTer and the power and trappings of his office, he’s a nobody.
He was never up to this level of power or responsibility. Never. Which is why he has screwed up everything he touched.

I don’t answer the phone unless its a number I know. When I receive an unknown call I add it to my call block list, and messages are deleted without playing.
I will not put any political stickers on my car.
I refused to participate in the census. and would not ever create a Facebook account.
I Do Vote!
They trance was broken and the old hypnotizing BULL BLEEP does not work a second time. A con man can only fool the same mark one time with the "play". One the mark has wised up, it's game over.
Early voting may backfire on Obama as many may take the opportunity to vote now after making up their mind after the first debate.
We have to make sure we keep track of that, to see if they do it all over.
Good looking woman , but man those are some ugly shoes .
Let’s talk on Nov. 7 after Obama goes down. Until then we need to fight like we’re behind.
Maybe, but our OH absentee data shows it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to “OVERSAMPLE” Rs and even these polls may understate R performance.
He’s wearing cowboy boots. I like that.

To me, it looked like that Colorado poll wasn’t oversampling Republicans so much as it was oversampling unknowns....
Shoes? Yes. But it’s also the dress that’s a disaster. Women, please, do NOT wear horizontal stripes, and especially huge ones like Mrs. Ryan is wearing in the picture at the top of the thread, unless you’re under the age of 13 and skinny like a boy.
Why we continue to site the leftist Business Insider and the more leftist author of this article is beyond me.....
The first thing I caught was Rasmussen LEANS republican in all his polls. That was the first thing this guy mentions.
State-controlled media can cook the polls when the election is months away, but the closer we get to the election the more honest the polls have to be if state-controlled media wants to maintain any credibility.
