Illinois Review has this fascinating article of predicable popular culture:
T-SHIRT SALES INDICATE PALIN VS OBAMA IN 2012
If T-shirt and presidential product sales predict the future in American politics, 2012 will be a Palin vs. Obama race. CafePress writes: The people have spoken and they want to see a Sarah Palin vs. Barack Obama showdown in the 2012 election. Although Palins Republican peers Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, and now Jon Huntsman have officially declared their candidacy, the American public is throwing their support behind Mama Grizzly for the 2012 Election on T-shirts that is.
It may be 503 days away, but politically-minded citizens have already designed over 500,000 presidential election products on CafePress, the go-to site for customizable merchandise (think royal wedding crasher and Weinergate tees).
Sarah Palin has yet to declare her candidacy, but Palin-themed merchandise already makes up a whopping 66 percent of Obama challenger sales and 34 percent of all 2012 election product sales.
Mitt Romney made it official several weeks ago but his product sales make up a small percentage of Obamas challengers at 3 percent of election product sales.
Michele Bachmann is also in Palins shadow, with products contributing to only 1 percent of election product sales.
Since CafePress has seen its T-shirt sales predict the winner of the previous three presidential elections, its clear that these Republican contenders have their work cut out for them.
Not in the constitution. To you.
If she is the only one that can beat Obama, and she is the best choice, and if she is sure to win if she runs, and you are sure she is running, then doesnt she have an obligation to you to run? Otherwise Obama wins and what? What valid reason could she have to let Obama have another 4 years? Her family? Herself?
T shirts is always how I pick a President. I look a T shirt sales to make my pick on who I want. I don’t give a hoot about substance or none of that old stuff. I look at T shirts and believe.
As a PDSer of the First Order, I know you're compelled (ordered perhaps?) to mock and invalidate any solid evidence that Sarah Palin is the clear front-runner, and choice of the people for the Republican nominee, but seriously...
Unfortunately, you have FAILED to refute the significance or validity of this finding. No one called these people out of the blue and asked them to participate in a poll. They made their choices of their own free will, and even paid good money to do so.
CafePress offers anyone the opportunity to 'vote' for whichever candidate they desire, much like a primary ballot does. The results are what they are, and apparently, they've predicted the outcomes of the last three presidential races.
That's proof of solid accuracy, in the real world. Time to put up, or shut up, Lindy. What have you got?
Logic. Common sense.
Show me. Refute the data, if you can.
Hey, that is how I pick my candidate. T shirt sales.
Why are you picking on me?
I had nothing to do with this article. All I said was I would pick my candidate by T shirt sales.
Windflier, you cannot refute that, can you?
You addressed me first, with your snarky little fart of a post. That's alright, your point came through loud and clear, and every adult reading this thread understood it clearly.
You're obviously threatened by this information, but you can't dispute its validity with logic, reason, or facts, so you resort to cheap shots, instead.
Like I said before, put up, or shut up. What have you got?
It's been over an hour and a half, now. When are you going to show me the logic and common sense that refutes the validity of the CafePress findings?
Surely, you've got it right at your fingertips. What's the hold up?
Why do all of you PDSers argue like juveniles? Dismantle the findings in the article, or admit that you have nothing.
You've been flapping your gums about how Palin "can't win" for months on end around here. Now's your big chance to show all of us how right you are. Gone on. Show us the facts.
Now you are just being willfully dense. Read it again.
“Her only responsibility is to her family and herself.”
“Not in the constitution. To you.”
Since you say she has a responsibility to run -to me- personally (Boy when did I become so powerful? Hey Todd, I used to race too, gimmie a sled and let’s go tear it up!) I officially absolve her of any requirement to run on my behalf - And now freed of that obligation, she can go back to her family and herself when considering her decision to run. Which in reality is the only responsibility she has ever had, or ever will.
We brought Obama on ourselves by not voting for McCain/Palin when we had the chance remember? Is it not YOU and I that have the “Duty” to correct that error?
She can’t, and no, it is you that act like snotty little bullies. Much to your dismay. I just find you humorous. LOL
Just as I thought. Can't back up your big talk. You've got nothing but nasty, juvenile crap.
You lose, Lindy.
Wow, I am crestfallen. LOL Nottttt!
Funny ‘Indy”, we find you liberal in your arguments and your method of presenting them. Try DU - seems more your level of ability...amusing you didn’t originate there to begin with.
True, but she's still got 66% of all Obama challenger sales. Per what CafePress discovered in the last three presidential elections, this is a predictor that she will be the most likely Republican to win the nomination.
More precisely, they say that the person who picks up the greatest share of sales has gone on to win the general election.
You can bet that the last three winners of the CafePress sales also had anti-"_____" merchandise in their total number of items sold. Those winners would be Obama, Bush, Bush.
You do realize that you've finally admitted defeat, don't you?
It's now here in glorious black and white electrons for anyone to see. Your reputation is now set in stone.
