Conservative blogger Breitbart sees Sarah Palin jumping into White House race
CBS News ^ | June 29, 2011 | Bonney Kapp

Conservative muckraker Andrew Breitbart said he believes former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will throw her hat in the ring for the Republican nomination for president.

"My guess is yes," Breitbart said when asked by CBS News Tuesday if he thought Palin would run.

Breitbart, who is featured prominently in the newly released movie on Palin's political rise, "The Undefeated," attended the film's world premiere in Pella, Iowa, where he was greeted by Palin with a hug.

While he explicitly said he was not endorsing Palin, he did describe himself as a "defender" of the polarizing politician.

"She represents something defiant and fearless and righteous and decent," he explained, and said the two hour pro-Palin movie "represents vindication" from her detractors.

But it's not just vindication from the so-called mainstream media. Breitbart called out "establishment Republicans," accusing them of sitting on the sidelines, "watching [Palin] be devoured because they don't want to see her succeed."

The only politicians in the US LESS popular than Obama right now are Sarah Palin, and Nancy Pelosi.

Only a paid operative would continue to spout such lies in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Why do you want Palin to stay out, and why are you strongly supporting weaker candidates? I think the question answers itself.

You cannot compare Michele to Sarah, no offense. Once Sarah gets in then she will unintentionally blow Bachmann out of the water without even trying. She has in a already built-in base who will give an arm, a leg and their lunch money to Sarah in finances! Bachmann had about 200+ for her official announcement on Monday after hyping it for a week, Sarah would have a 1000 at hers if it was announced like that.

How about staying off Sarah threads? Sarah is going to run and win. I truly believe Perry is waiting to see if Sarah is going to run before he decides whether to run. It will be great to have Sarah and Michelle in debates together. You jackwagons let the government run media convince you of their garbage about Sarah.

I know polls this far out are rather pointless...but she by FAR does the worst against Obama. Obama makes almost 55% or better in fact.

Do you even read what you write? If the polls this far out are pointless, why are you basing your opinion on them? Even worse, why are you asking me to do likewise?

You want to talk polls? Palin has easily outdistanced her rivals in about 75% of the polls I've seen published over the last year or so. There is no question that the Republican nomination is hers for the asking.

If you're convinced that she can't beat Obama, then you may as well take your attention off of politics for the next 18 months and get ready for four more years of The Won. There isn't a stronger Republican candidate waiting in the wings. Sarah is it.

If you honestly want to rid the nation of the Obama scourge, you ought to get behind Sarah now, and push with everything you've got.

you do know in head to head polls against Obama Bachmann and Cain do worse than Palin. If palin can’t win there is no way in hell Cain nor bachmann can win.

If she has made a decision and it is negative, she should have said so.

If Sarah had already decided to stay out, she would have said so by now. She respects the American people far too much to allow millions of us to wait for months in anticipation, only to be stood up at the alter.

I know what she's said about watching the field develop, and not rushing into this, but she has to say that to keep both friends and enemies at bay while she executes her real strategy. The lady plays (and wins) by her own rules, and is rewriting the political playbook, as we speak.

purrrfect response about Breitbart.

he’s done a LOT for the right.
he is a courageous hero for literally standing in their faces, telling them the truth.
and, eventually he may change his mind on other issues.
even Reagan and Bachmann were once Democrats, right?

and even while imperfect, Breitbart has done far more than most here for our Country. he is a true patriot.

What a crock—Palin’s by far the best candidate we have to defeat Obama.

After reading the Faith and Values of Sarah Palin last fall, I was 100% convinced she would run. Then I observed her as time went on, a few poor TV interviews, I thought, this is a person not running.

Then the last few interviews she has been on fire, targeted messaging, bus tours and positives again rising. Then Bristols comment yesterday that she told her Mom to run was stunning...

So I have no idea.... and I think that is what Sarah wants....

Not true, look right on RCP.

Neither Cain nor Bachmann do WELL...but it’s mostly name recognition right now. Enough people don’t know who they are for them to have some wiggle room.

Palin has very high name recognition, almost as high as Obama himself, and STILL loses in these polls.

That’s bad.

I’ll put that down as someone that doesn’t want to defeat Romney.

Put down the Romney inspired kool-aid and see that Romney and Palin are engaged in a three year, head to head, battle for the 2012 nomination.

They go back and forth from first to second, right now Palin is back on top as the top candidate for 2012, you want her to drop out, giving the field to a clear cut, frontrunner, Mitt Romney, the machine candidate.

Another vote for Romney to win the 2012 GOP nomination.

There’s zero chance that Palin sits out and then jumps in after Iowa and NH.

She’d be grievously abandoning the cause to leave the race to Bachmann, as well. Bachmann would be eaten alive by the Dems, Obama and the media the minute she was no longer useful to them—and that would be well before she got to the White House.

That’s based on a lot of people having an opinion of Palin based on how others have characterized her, not on what she has actually said and done. If Palin chooses to run she’ll get the truth out there and the numbers will swing wildly in her favor. Her negatives will drop and her positives will soar and the media smears will be far less effective.

No current or past polls have any meaning or bearing on whether or not she can win the presidency.

Besides, 0bama can very easily piss off enough people that the Republican candidate will be almost guaranteed a win, unless our side chooses a RINO.
