Almost no one in politics or the media will admit it in public, but the GOP lost the Presidency in 2008 by alienating the moral conservative base that the elites loathe. Many stayed home or voted third party, rejecting a nominee who was in fundamental aspects a liberal Democrat.
That is why Barry Sotero — a radical socialist with Islamic roots posing as a Christian, groomed for years by Marxist revolutionaries, who hides essential documents of his birth, education and career, who campaigned with illegal funding from overseas interests, who as far as 300 million Americans can honestly tell, was born in a foreign country and (under the plain language of the Supreme Law of the United States, the Constitution) cannot legally be our President, who lacks even the executive experience of a night manager at a self-serve gas station — nevertheless sleeps in the White House. Bill Simon was a good candidate, he beat two RINOs, including the senile leftist kook Tricky Dick Riordan, but that huge lag between the primary (which is held far too early) and the general is where he lost his momentum. He ran a spectacular spring campaign and a subpar summer and fall. But the fact that McClintock was the highest vote getter in that election is something that really burns your ass. It contradicts your nonsensical point that running only liberals leads somehow to Conservative success.

I oppose it going that way for the time being, but we need a full-scale purge of the corrupted and statist liberals that control the party apparatus. If that cannot be accomplished and we cannot get back control to set us on the right course, third party will be the only alternative (but as I said, I hope it doesn't have to come to that).

There hasn't been a decent candidate to run against Boxer since Bruce Herschensohn.

I support Palin because she is a Conservative, she's the only reason why I voted for that phony RINO McCain's ticket (even though he clearly demonstrated he didn't want to win). McCain had less of a problem attacking Conservatives than he did the False Messiah. When the GOP smartens up and recruits and runs actual Conservatives, I'll support them. When they want to run liberals, they can go to hell.
