Mitt Romney, the GOP's Bridge to Oblivion
Gregg Jackson ^ | July 20, 2009 | Gregg Jackson & John Haskins

Almost no one in politics or the media will admit it in public, but the GOP lost the Presidency in 2008 by alienating the moral conservative base that the elites loathe. Many stayed home or voted third party, rejecting a nominee who was in fundamental aspects a liberal Democrat.

That is why Barry Sotero — a radical socialist with Islamic roots posing as a Christian, groomed for years by Marxist revolutionaries, who hides essential documents of his birth, education and career, who campaigned with illegal funding from overseas interests, who as far as 300 million Americans can honestly tell, was born in a foreign country and (under the plain language of the Supreme Law of the United States, the Constitution) cannot legally be our President, who lacks even the executive experience of a night manager at a self-serve gas station — nevertheless sleeps in the White House. That’s why. Do the homework. Look at the demographics.

You project your own Stalinist desires in trying to get people banned who don’t hate Romney. That’s true Stalinism. You then project. Understandable. Deranged, but understandable.

You (and other RDS people) mean nothing to conservatism compared to Coulter. She’s advanced the cause. You haven’t done squat. You disagree with her on Romney, so you think she must be “bought off” or that she can’t ID a socialist. You read any of her books? You, who then haven’t done jack for the Right compared to Coulter, then declare her credibility gone, on a Free Republic discussion thread.

You see the irony in a RDS Freeper claiming the “conservative credibility” mantle against a best-selling conservative author and commentator who has actually been in the arena of ideas to do battle with the Left? I hope you do. If you don’t, you need to consider your own derangement.

No one believes your claim that she endorses, pimps, or 'sleeps with', Romney.

Who cares? Her credibility will plummet if she did/does.

Romney has a HISTORY OF FAKING ENDORSEMENTS.
Sort of like his FAKE LEO BADGES.

What 'conservative' politician has been exposed buying and awarding himself an 'award'?

"Behind the empty gestures and deceptive rhetoric, Romney was not pro-life
or a defender of marriage by any stretch of the imagination.
He was a disaster," said O'Gorman, of the board for Massachusetts Citizens for Life.
He said Romney "deceptively" claims to have been awarded
a pro-life award from the group.

"The award Romney arranged for himself with the local Pioneer Valley Chapter
was the Mullins Award for Political Leadership, not a pro-life award
and not approved by MCFL's state board of directors," he said.
"We're blowing the whistle to warn voters…
"

[Family leaders call Romney 'disaster' - Letter criticizes 'deceptive rhetoric' around candidate]

Buying a fake endorsement. How Romney is that?

LOL...

Man, you must still have the team Romney “Bloggers for Mitt” training manual right in front of you.

This is a conservative site, the vast majority of FR members DO share my basic political opinion. Pushing the non conservative will generate a fitting reaction, and underhandedness and deceit and even greater one.

As for the fringe group bit, Mitt never had more than 13-15% support here on FR, and I am sure that has shrunk even in the past few weeks as all the info on Romneycare comes out, as I have seen several posters say as much.

So who is ‘fringe? Ann Coulter is a disappointment on this, but an understandable one given her position in the public eye. That has been discussed in FR many times. It changes nothing, for facts are irrefutable.

Good find, thank you for posting it. If you remember in 2008 she stated that she was “reluctantly” supporting Mitt over Rudy because of abortion... which was really hipocracy since Mitt miraculously became a born-again anti-abortion after he decided to run for president and that she didn’t see that is as telling as her ignoring his comment only a week about about Romneycare.

Man, you must still have the team Romney “Bloggers for Mitt” training manual right in front of you.

As I've already said, you've resorted to dealing in fantasies in order to have any come back at all.

"A" for imagination

"F" for dealing with reality

Keep swinging.

Practice makes perfect...

The only fantasies is that which one needs to see Mitt as a Conservative. It take a good one just to ignore or support Romneycare as a great conservative idea and accomplishment...

But please, keep enlightening us, the entertainment value "Team Romney" brings to FreeRepublic is priceless...

You are seriously ranting here without any factual backing. You misquote, assume way too much and throw foolish taunts that are honestly laughable.

Bill Simon was a awful candidate in what was essentially a easily beatable Red davis in 2002, the fact that McClintock got more votes than Simon doesn’t mean much except to show what a lousy candidate Simon was in running so poorly on what should have been a easily winnable general election.

The conservative movement cannot survive functionally outside the Republican party, look at polls if Palin goes third party she polls around 16%.

If you really think Fiorina - a highly accomplished talented women with a solid business background and with no political record is the same as Boxer a seasoned liberal hack and a far left loony, then you need to examine yourself and what your agenda is. Is it to support career liberal loonies over accomplished Republican women? Is that what you support. If Fiorina is tagged as RINO simply because she worked on and supported McCain’s campaign, then what about Palin? Isn’t she the ultimate RINO for running as a VP on the McCain ticket? Cheap labels dont serve to advance conservative principles.

Romney’s sons all served LDS missions - two years loving and serving and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Oh, they are so evil!!

Choosing to travel around and talk to people, sleep in a warm bed, eat good food, out of the way of danger, all of which you can walk away from in a moment is in no way equal to what soldiers do. It will never be the same and it will never be equal, and your attempt to equate it says a lot.

Evangelizing is fine. Some men, through their faith, valor, bravery and selfless commitment to their nation, manage to do both. Others... not so much.

BTW - this crappy rumor going around that Mormons do not serve in the military is a damnable lie. We are patriots, love our country, and are proud of our members who have served. All gave some; some gave all.

Then why did YOU bring it up? For someone who claims it is a lie, why did you mention it? If you think it makes you more sympathetic as you denigrate the service of American soldiers, think again.

I never said Mormons don't serve in the military. I said that Mitt Romney's children, as well as Mitt Romney himself did not serve in the military and that is an absolute fact.

Additionally, I said that Mitt Romney equated his sons riding around in an RV to the service of American soldiers. I provided Mitt Romney's own quotes and an article to back it up.

Thank you for allowing me to reiterate this, because it gripes me no end that anyone would equate what soldiers do to staying in hotels and eating fine food.

A close relative of mine has served in Afghanistan for the last several years. He bravely chooses to serve our nation and puts his life on the line every single day. I can't begin to tell you what he has sacrificed for all of us. I stand in awe of him, and for all of the men like him. Brave men, down to the last one. I have a family tree full of these brave men.

Military service may not be for everyone. Not everyone is cut out for it, and there is (usually) no shame in not serving. But there is immense shame in what Mitt Romney said, or their would be, if he had an ounce of conscience about him.

Mitt Romney, who thinks riding around in a Winnebago is somehow equal to that, is not worthy to wipe their boots.

________________________________________

Here’s another fact...

While brave men were fighting in Vietnam during the late 1960s, draft dodging Romney was living it up in gay paree, safe from harm...

he was living in a mansion, driving citreon cars, eating fine food, servants etc for 2 years...

He Daddy got little Willie deferments at least twice cause he had more important things to do...

In fact Mitty’s Daddy, George decided that war might make little soft white and delightsome little hands all dirty and that nasty gun might make little Willie’s hands all calloused...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The horror....

So as little Willie was to good to fight for his country like a normal patriot, he was shipped off to Paris, France of all places...

I grew up thinking Africa was where missionaries went...

Not our sweet little Willie...

Nothing but the best for him...

Cant have him mixing with the sons of solored men...or the sons of poor men...

He is just like Bill Clinton ...He loathed the military...Plus everyone in it..

Williard Mitt Romney’s Report Card...

Qualifications to be Commander-in-Chief.......FFFFFFFFF

Thank you for posting that. I didn’t know some of it, and it says a lot about Mitt Romney’s (lack of) character. Thank you so much. It just cannot be said often enough that Romney is not acceptable to people with their heads on straight.

And may God Bless our troops abroad and at home. Day in and day out, they humbly do the hardest jobs in the world.

Anyone who would try to elevate themselves above soldiers, thinking they are too good to serve, is beneath contempt.

You did notice that little Willie didnt ride the mandotory bicycle didnt you ??

Rules dont apply when its the son or relative of a Romney, or a rich man, or a mormon leader....

Other sons have to ride bicycles...

Romney’s the only one I know of who got to drive cars...and expensive Citroens at that...

Then there was that accident when the mission leader’s wife was killed...

THere were three people in the front and just two seats..

Little Willie was driving...

George Romney got involved and it was hushed up...

Well, she seemed to be "waffling" between Mitt and Palin, which I found bizarre... But then again she is not doing anything different from the past. She has supported Mitt before. Oh well. I misread her.

If Ann is truly anti-abortion — as she claims — then Palin should have been a no-brainer choice for her.

Yeah, besides... I misread her, my mistake. She has been a "soldier" before... I will give her that much and so I'll return th favor by giving her some leeway. She is after all "a media personality" and she has to make a living in that world. Someone reminded me that Hannity is JUST like her... True, and therefore I never took him (them now) seriously...but I don't want to be too harsh on them... for now.

BUT...that does not change anything for us and our mission: not supporting used-car-salemen :)

... TRUST ME... JUST LIKE NEW

Well, just like I said before... She is just not as squeamish as we are when choosing a candidate... Let's not forget Mitt is on both sides of every issue, so you can NOT go wrong with him (LOL). But yes, let's just say, she is not like us... and so, good luck Ann, bye-bye
