Mitt Romney, the GOP's Bridge to Oblivion
Gregg Jackson ^ | July 20, 2009 | Gregg Jackson & John Haskins

Almost no one in politics or the media will admit it in public, but the GOP lost the Presidency in 2008 by alienating the moral conservative base that the elites loathe. Many stayed home or voted third party, rejecting a nominee who was in fundamental aspects a liberal Democrat.

That is why Barry Sotero — a radical socialist with Islamic roots posing as a Christian, groomed for years by Marxist revolutionaries, who hides essential documents of his birth, education and career, who campaigned with illegal funding from overseas interests, who as far as 300 million Americans can honestly tell, was born in a foreign country and (under the plain language of the Supreme Law of the United States, the Constitution) cannot legally be our President, who lacks even the executive experience of a night manager at a self-serve gas station — nevertheless sleeps in the White House. That’s why. Do the homework. Look at the demographics.

Hi, I guess Greg was right on this one. Did you see Ann on Hannity?... Do you have any news on this?

This is BIG news. I expected to find a big thread on this this morning but I don't see anything

Maybe, if the economy is still terrible, nothing will save Obama, Acorn can committ fraud but they would be pebbles against the tidal wave rolling against the Marxist El Presidente’.

I don’t think Bubba Clinton ever claimed to be pro-life or pro-gun.

Most of that era is pre-internet, so there's not a lot out there. But here is a phrase that could only exist with someone like Clinton:

How Bill Clinton’s pro-life pastor in Arkansas helped him come to a pro-choice position on abortion..

From a book about Hillary and religion:

Link

We can guess what they actually believed, but Clinton and Gore both claimed positions that helped them in the southern home states. Also, abortion was not such a controversial issue in their early careers. I remember discussions of their positions on these issues when they first became noticed nationally.

There are no mountains in Oklahoma. I’ve lived in Colorado. Those are mountains. I’ve scaled Pike’s Peak several times. That’s a mountain.

Mountain = 14,000 foot hill. That’s my definition, and common parlance. Most people would call you the liar for saying there are mountains in Oklahoma.

Why I’m bothering to explain common parlance to an RDS Freeper who idiotically argues dictionary semantics, I have no idea. Probably pity.

You've perfectly summed up why you're a Slick Willardbot liberal troll with a deranged post like that. There's no mountains in Oklahoma because you say so. Gee whiz, sporto, I'm impressed. Not.

Adding to #403, here's what the NRA publication had to say about Bill Clinton:

Arkansas Governor and Presidential candidate Bill Clinton has repeatedly changed his stand on the issues of gun ownership and control. This inconstant stand was interpreted as only a means of gaining political strength for the coming 1992 presidential elections.

Link

Yes, Clinton and Gore had pro-life and pro-gun times in their careers. But we're talking mid-1970s until late 1980s before they were part of any national campaigns, so the net doesn't have much from that era, and the MSM definitely did not publish anything about the hypocrisy of their favorite liberals.

Krauthammer was once a registered democrat? So was Jim Robinson. I was there when he filled out the card to quit the democRATS and join the GOP. On the corner of Blackstone and Shaw.

I just listened to Romney in the here and now. He defended his care plan here in the last month and indicated it would be good nation wide.

So when does this change come?

Politicians do not change that much, indeed if they did it is even more problematic that any one would cheer lead such, since it shows a lack of integrity. Maturing on a issue here and there is one thing, switching back and forth as the winds blow is something entirely different. I would hope you would understand it, and sadly think you do, but must make”allowances” so you can stand for Romney.

You are playing the same games all the Mitt supporters play here. Nothing new in that.

I do find disgust at the misuse and overplaying of Reagan, for on that “uniformed” or “willfully blind’ is the LAST thing I am.

You are not the first Romneybot to pull that and sadly you won't be the last...

Romney’s sons all served LDS missions - two years loving and serving and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Oh, they are so evil!!

BTW - this crappy rumor going around that Mormons do not serve in the military is a damnable lie. We are patriots, love our country, and are proud of our members who have served. All gave some; some gave all.

I am proud to be a Mormon.

“Romneycare” morphed into something Romney himself never intended thanks to the liberal democRATS and liberal-leaning courts in that State. But Romney gets all the blame and probably deserves some of it. Thanks.

I thing we can safely judge Romneycare.

As Conservatives we judged it before it began since it is full of mandates among other issues.

The fact that is is bankrupting the state with tremendous cost overruns is just nails in the coffin.

"I am a defender of freedom, liberty and the Constitution."

Then why are you defending a Socialist liberal opposed to those things ?

Yes, here is the evidence... But you know? After the initial shock...who cares, we don't need her. What we need is to STAND FIRM in our convictions.

You RDS sufferers border on derangement. It's not healthy to be so obsessed with hatred with any person or anything.

Romney is a politician, and anyone considering him or any other politician must consider their policy positions in total and decide who they are most in agreement with. I'm sure that concept is beyond the grasp of RSD sufferers.

I'm just observing for now and hope Romney and Sarah are both strong candidates in 2012. And I haven't said I support Romney in 2012, only that his policy inconsistencies from state to national politics are not at all unusual. Merely saying that much sends some of you into hysterical, virtual ranting.

Start in on Ann Coulter now, as has been noted in this thread, she views Romney positively for 2012.

This RDS might be any even more rabid condition that BDS. Amazing what you people will say about anyone who makes even one or two points in Romney's favor.

I consider people deranged who adamently argue that there are mountains in Oklahoma. Sane people don’t do that. People that have actually scaled up a 14,000-foot mountain don’t do that. People that have scaled up a 14,000-foot mountain will tell you that there are no mountains in Oklahoma.

I’m very sorry that you are limited by the dictionary and reference material in your understanding of mountains.

I read something about that this morning. Look, I may come around to judging Mitt more harshly as others do. I’m just saying that there were many people like the RDS crowd who hated Reagan in the late ‘70s and into his presidency, for the very same reasons, that they passionately felt he was too liberal and selling out conservatives.

Makes sense to me that we should learn from history.
