"Today, the LA House of Representatives just spit in the face of the citizens of LA and approved an obscene pay increase (which goes up auto-magically annually without further action) for themselves starting in two week."

It means that spit is not the only thing (”matter”, in this context meaning some type of material) that they are flinging.
I would guess that the other to which he refers rhymes with spit.

'Bobby' should have vetoed the pay raise!
The savings could have been passed along to the league of stupid Louisiana citizens who are incapable of fending for themselves.
Perhaps they could use the money for useful items like i-pods or, better yet, navigational devices so they can locate their backsides.

This thread is not the least informative thread of all time.

“If the Louisiana state legislative pay hike goes into effect without any action being taken by Gov. Jindal, then how is it his fault?
Jindal can easily kill it. But he won’t because he wants to keep his mandate on track. Basically it is legislative extortion and Jindal is paying up.

Rush Limbaugh:
"Bobby Jindal. I did an interview with Bobby Jindal. He is the next Ronald Reagan, if he doesnt change."
Well, there you go. Jindal must have changed then.
No apology needed from Rush, although I'm wondering if the whining phuckwits screaming for an apology from Rush would prefer to have a crook like Edwin Edwards running Louisiana again?

But he wont because he wants to keep his mandate on track. If that's the price to pay for moving the state in a more conservative direction than so be it. Such a pay hike is more directly tied to the legislators than the governor anyway, and if voters are angry they can take their frustrations out on the legislators.

The blog post is somehow trying to make the link between Rush praising the governor and the actions of the Louisiana house of Representatives. Lots of leaps there. LoL.. you can tell Jindal may be in the running for VP, bashing articles are starting.

"Bobby Jindal is the closest thing to a genuine Reagan conservative that we currently have in the Republican party." Having heard what Rush said, which came in response to a question, this is a perfect summation.

It's great, isn't it? In the old days, people would look up the poster's background, find the availing contradictions, deliver the broadside, sometimes the thread would be pulled...nowadays I'd rather post the non-sequitur jpg:

The local news media have been naming all those legislators that voted for the raise. It will be interesting to see if any get kicked out of office. For me, I think it was inevitable that they got a raise, and it is probably a small price to pay if we can actually get some good legislation passed.

It’s just nice to have someone on our side who can speak. I am astounded by the mediocre verbal skills of most politicians. My God, it’s a profession where speaking, public speaking especially, is vitally important. Just further evidence that the best in our country don’t gravitate to politics.

Vetoing a pay raise for legislators passed by those same legislators is not a good way to get one’s radical (for Louisiana) conservative agenda passed. Hey, it’s politics.

From Artical:
"Jindal issued a statement about the raise saying:""I still disapprove of this pay raise. While Im glad they reduced it, its still more than a doubling of their pay, which I believe is excessive."
"I will not veto [the raise]
."
Not knowing the political makeup of LA I imagine the reason he won't veto is because they have enough votes to overide his veto.

Ok, he reduced it from “is” to “could be”. That’s fair.

Remember when ESPN’s Chris Berman (sp?) apologized for Rush’s commentary for which he was hired to provide and subsequently fired for? 2+2=?
To: pnh102
Because he can veto it.
Geez! I've never seen such a Confederacy of Dunces like this before in my life!
