If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly! By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I... And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight... Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair... bentfeather© | | | | |

    Welcome.
The rose I had was a Jacksons and perkins 'Blue Girl'.
And it was a definate blue.
I've never seen anything like it before, or since.
And when we moved from that house, we couldn't take it with us.
Indeed, the guy who bought the house barred us from moving any of the plants if I remember rightly.
He then parked a dump truck on top of J&P's 'Climbing Peace' that we had.

Ohhhh Dark, you're a New Yorker for sure.

Jackson and Perkins Rose bushes!! Woo Hoo!

I'm into vampires as well, but my mother doesn't
allow much indulgence. I did a report on Vlad Tepes
once, back in seventh grade.

I was living in Vernon New Jersey at that time (1980's) and that particular rose was my responsibility.
It had strangely variant blooms, some from two inches to almost 5 across, and color varied from a solid light or medium blue to darker blue, light blue with darker mottling on the edges.
Had some pics of it, but they have sionce faded.

But I remember the surprise on the faces of my teachers at the end of the school year when I brought roses in for them.
Sort of a 'thank you for putting up with me over the school year' thing.
I was often asked if it was a real rose.
I think the reason for it's color is that my yard was once a strawberry field.
And roses grow best where strawberries will grow.
At least in my experience.

    | Heavenly Father,
We come before you humbly to hold our nations Troops
 before the Throne of Grace.
Father, we pray for their protection and care.
We ask that they may return to their loving families,
whole and complete as they when they left to serve their nation.
 In your Holy name Father,
 Amen

    Strawberry fields forever little one.

Did you know that geese are the best weeders in a strawberry patch, they do not eat the berries.
To: bentfeather
Raccoons eat anything!! LOL! When we go camping the steal the dogs food.

    Didn't know that about geese.
The strawberries grew well in the backyard.
And the dirt was somewhat dust like and rust colored.
I was told that the dirt had a high iron content.
Not sure exactly what the deal was, but that's what I was told.

That is an example of a different form of haiku I'm
experimenting with. However, I left a word out. It's
meant to have 10 syllables in the first line & 7 in the
second. So, allow me to correct myself.

I can sense your pulse beneath your warm skin.
Your blood is so inviting...

To: Darkchylde; radu
I am the dark of night
the stillness of the fields
The wolves mournful howl
upon the wild wooded streams
I am the the whisper in the ear
the fevered goodnite kiss
I am a coldness of the soul
that longs for warm embrace
I am a shadow of a mist
that hides her enchanting face.

    Two Cats

  Two Cats
 One up a tree
 One under the tree
The cat up a tree is he
The cat under the tree is she
The tree is witch elm, just incidentally.
He takes no notice of she, she takes no notice of he.
He stares at the woolly clouds passing, she stares at the tree.
There's been a lot written about cats, by Old Possum, Yeats and Company
But not Alfred de Musset or Lord Tennyson or Poe or anybody
Wrote about one cat under, and one cat up, a tree.
God knows why this should be left for me
Except I like cats as cats be
 Especially one cat up
 And one cat under
 A witch elm
 Tree.
