I'm not believing you anymore when you say you're not a sports geek. "
Believe it. I'll bet you a plate of hot fresh breaded cheese curds that he got his information from here.:)

I liked the thread. Thanks!
I also liked what one post called the GENERAL...the panderbear. I think I shall adopt that!

That's what the hubby said.
Too bad.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Panthers absolutely will not lose tomorrow.
.
.
.
.
That's probably a pretty safe bet since they have a bye week ..... *grins*

Already??? After two games??? Weird.....

Miss Florida won? I only saw her answer to the question in the final and thought she played the race card. Ugh!

2nd runner-up......not bad for a little old Green Bay girl.
She can use the money..........she said she owes $120,000 in student loans.
She was the youngest person ever to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (at 18) and also from the UW-Madison Medical School (at 22). Pretty incredible.

I didn't really watch much of it, but she won the hearts of the four women in this house.

Yeah, isn't that a bummer! We have some momentum going (have I told you that we're 2-0!!! and beat the reigning Super Bowl Champs last week!!!) .... and later in the season we might need that open week more as injuries mount up.

The Titans get their bye week exactly at mid-point, after 8 games.

Yes, Kay....the Panthers are 2-0. And I loved what they did to Tampa, esp. those blocked kicks. Incredible.
I have to go....(shudder)........iron my dress for tomorrow.
I hate ironing.......
To: MozartLover
I am sooooo impressed with the things John Fox is doing with the team. We have never even
tried to block kicks ..... and now we're not only blocking punts but also PATs, which is very difficult to do. I think we have 5 blocked kicks in two games. YAHOO!!!
And we're even beginning to finally make some progress on learning how to tackle.
After the woes of the last few years, it is just great to feel that we have a chance to win games!

I'll never forget how good the Panthers were in the first year of their existence. They came up here in the second round of the play-offs. Who was that blonde guy......defense......Kevin something???
Anyway, they were quite impressive.

Kevin Greene .... he was something else. A real maverick but a good one ..... the fans loved him. One of the highlights of our brief history was the day that he picked up a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown. He was as graceful as a bull elephant ...... and then dove the last few feet into the end zone. Well, actually, if there had been a swimming pool around it would have been more of a belly flop. It was priceless!

The dress is finished, I shall be the "lady in red" tomorrow.:)
Time to call it a night. Angels all around.
For some reason this poem is speaking to me tonight. Maybe it's all the talk of the C-Nile virus.;^)
Love to all.
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light
Though wise men at their end know dark is right
Because their words had forked no lightening they
Do not go gentle into that good night
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn too late, they grieved on its way
Do not go gentle into that good night
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes like meteors be gay
Rage, rage against the dying of the light
And you, my father, there on the sad height
Curse, bless me now, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

You DID see where Mark Steyn has today dubbed him General Jello? HA!
To: MozartLover
I typed a response to you several minutes ago but it seems to be in limbo. I know if I hit post on it again, it will then show up a dozen times. So, for now, I'll just tell you that his name is Kevin Greene. Maybe you'll get the rest of my comments eventually.
