AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 951) [Davis Death Watch - 39 Days to Go!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | August 29, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 08/29/2003 4:20:41 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Remember the Trade Center!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

North Korea, in the six-way talks to discuss the dismantling of its nuclear weapons program, announced it has a nuclear weapon and will test it. [Ed. Note: The United States should announce in return that it has a nuclear weapon and intends to "test" it.]

In the left's continuing attempt to disarm Israel, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced it will look into "Israeli Nuclear Capabilities and Threats".

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I don't think I told you that my good friend's daughter has been accepted at Auburn. They did a visit this spring and were very impressed. The only reason she won't attend is if something financial should come up (doubtful).

Anyway, if she is heading down there next fall, I will give you here name so you can look her up.

In their continuing actions against the United States, the French are considering unitiing their French Foreign Legion charity with Hamas, in order to protect Hamas' funds from being frozen. I heard this on Fox about 45 minutes ago.

No way! Sigh, I wouldn't put anything past those turds. Is there an article on FR about this latest knife in the back from our French allies?

Do, please send us her name. The 2004 - 2005 year this family will be in the States and yes, I would like to look her up. As far as financial concerns, we're on a very low support salary and cannot afford to send anyone to school. But there are financial packages out there which make college available to anyone with the scores to qualify. I look forward to meeting her.

Mr Mulliner, it is nice to be respected. There has been many a year which we weren't.

re. Library Journal

Please let me know if my book shows up there. It should, as that's my publisher's principal market.

Btw, many thanks to all you ATRWrs who checked in on my book announcement thread here. I much appreciate the cheer and the kind words.

Apparently France is considering hiding terrorist funds by comingling them with The French Foreign Legion charity funds. They think we couldn't freeze Hamas' assets by doing this.

To me this means that the French government is a supporter of terrorism.

Evening all. I'm at Trill's for the evening, lots of work to do here.

I spent the day with Dad, and with my younger daughter, helping her set her computer up.

Dad's face is paralyzed on the side where they did the radiation. He was really tired, but in very good spirits.

Have you tried these?....la tortilla factory low carb tortilla...

We bought some today and had soft shell tacos. They were exceptable.... in fact quite good.

There is a store locator on that page. We found that a nearby health food store carries them.

Sorry, Jem. It might be hard for you to get these.

Hi John. Glad you got to spend the day with your dad. I'm sure your visit is one reason he's in good spirits.

My mom is doing much better. She and my dad drove to Nashville today with a couple from their church. I didn't used to think people in their 80s should be driving, but I don't worry about them, really.

I didn't work today, but will tomorrow. After working Wednesday and Thursday, I needed today to recuperate. LOL! My joints get tired and sore after sitting in that car all cramped up surrounded by mail.

I'm going to worm the goats again, a job that is way overdue. I remember the first time I did them it took me over a week to catch them all. Now I should have no problems.

Hey, that sounds pretty good. I really want to try them.

My sister-in-law tried some low-carb tortillas she got at Walmart, but said they seemed to be a stray package as there weren't any others and she hasn't seen them since.

Just at dinner tonight I was wondering why they don't make a low-carb ketchup. Mrs. Mulliner agrees that it would be easy for them to make and probably sell well.

While I'm wishing for things, I'd like low-carb peanut butter.

Sorry I didn't ping you. Being the carb pro that you are...coach. :-)I thought you would have had these already.

I saw some low carb ketchup somewhere. I don't use it often so it has slipped my mind.

The Akins cook book (which I bought a couple of days ago) sys that many health food stores carry a low-carb (sugar free) ketchup.

I made my own pb many years ago. I bought peanuts at a health food store..... put them along with a little salt in a food processor. I may have added a wee bit of oil, too. It was yummy.

I watched the news tonight for the first time in several months. The California thing was tops, and raises some thoughts:

- The recall itself is a product of the progressive period. It was intended to give power to the people (a ludicrous concept in a republic). I love how the party of the people is desparate to deny the people its expression in the recall.

- In that there will be no primaries leading up to the recall, it will mimic the worst of other countries' electoral structures. Unless the Republicans put up only one candidate there will be multiple choices on the day of polling. This can only lead to crappy result. When candidates don't have to earn a party consensus they end up being elected by and representing a minority. Coalition governments result when it comes time for governing, for only a minority elected the leadership. The briliance of the two party system is that minority enthusiasms are fought out during the primary or within the parties, so that when the general election comes the candidates represent a coalition already. Putting coalitions together afterwards always fails, or leads to stupid governance.

- Finally, of all the candidates only Arnold is enjoying himself, or appears so. From the video I saw, the guy's having great fun. If so, he's got a great chance of winning. You have to have fun in politics to do really well. Some candidates hide their joy behind a facade made to cover egotism, a la Ted Kennedy or Hillary Clinton. Others, a la Ronbo, Dubya or, dare I say it, Clintoon, overtly show their joy at the process, and thereby share the fun with their voters.

I don't yet know what to think of it all. It'll be fun to watch, that's for sure.

When we first lived in China, we thought peanut butter was a real treat, but couldn't find it hardly anywhere. We could buy something called soy paste or peanute paste, but, of course, it wasn't much of a substitute.

We tried to make our own using a little grinder we had, but it wasn't really anything like a food processor and didn't produce what we wanted.

Then one time we took a long train ride across the province to visit some American teachers in a much smaller city. We found a store there with peanut butter so we bought them out, about a dozen jars, and took them back on the train with us.

That was about a year after the first gulf war and I remember someone outside that shop, when he learned we were Americans, congratulating us on defeating Saddam. The Chinese name for Saddam and Satan are identical, I think. How fitting.

Remarkable that treasure of 6 acres is in the midst of industrial/business Bedford.. gorgeous waterfall
