The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…

Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

The Road Goes Ever On…

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

WN, sometimes with guys, if you don't take the word 'insane' as a compliment, then you will just never hear compliments!

Yeah, like: "Whoa, babe, those boots are competely insane..." [definitely a good thing]

Compared with: "Whoa, babe, sure I said I'd like some bacon but what are you... totally insane??" [still a good thing, unless the inlaws are there too].

Aunts, especially, kinda wild ones, are a lot of fun! SSQ's younger sister fulfills that role with our kids. She's 47 and never married, but just loves life and has some good friends with whom she travels and hangs out.

She loves to spend time with our kids when we get together for the reunion, and our kids enjoy being with her, too!

I will make that note of your bro. I just got a much more favorable view of him with his post about the helmuts. He can more to Texas. I will get him politically involved here.

That would be "insane" as in "without boundaries" and not "insane" as is "tilting at windmills".

:-)

Of course the biggest ADVANTAGE is that you don't get caught up in the day to day melodramas among the siblings and cousins!

Boy you can say that again.

Here, I'll do it for ya.

my obit will definitiely contain the words: recalcitrant, drunkard, waste of skin, and Marine...

Well, recalcitrant and Marine certainly seem appropriate, but somehow I don't think the other two will quite fit. ;o)

Don't you kinda like this writing of one's own obit? I think it is the best way.

Tho' it was easy for me to do Grama's ---- and mama edited out all the important stuff. Cretin woman.

Rule one: They have to ride without helmets at least once before they get the hard lesson on what the nanny state is all about

that's nuthin... I got a good friend that bought his 5 and 3 year-old daughters a quad runner... no governor... no helmet or safety gear... they know only one throttle position... wide open... how come they haven't died in the last year, I dunno... God loves fools and children...

Isn't that funny.... I read his post about the helmets and the worries totally wrong! I am impressed and take back my post about the 'numbering worrying' bit!

Well, we all know that you didn't intend the fowl to be pets. But, it's hard to make that distinction to kids. Especially kids new to a farm life. My oldest was 8 when we moved from Austin to the country. There were hard things she had to learn. Like what your kids learned this weekend.

I have the DVD "The Two Towers". It's some sort of studio release...every ten minutes at the bottom of the screen it says "For your consideration". There are no ads or extra features on it....just the movie. And a really great movie by the way :o) Anyone else have one of these?
