us too... as far as I wuz concerned, they weren't pets... but I wasn't the issue... the kids are happy, we got some new birds, and we can go on...

Well, we all know that you didn't intend the fowl to be pets. But, it's hard to make that distinction to kids. Especially kids new to a farm life. My oldest was 8 when we moved from Austin to the country. There were hard things she had to learn. Like what your kids learned this weekend.
