We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good Morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
A 4.5 magnitude quake struck in western Kentucky.
GAG ALERT - A&E has announced plans for a movie about 97's life in the White House: A fair and balanced personal history. Wonder if we'll learn about the billing records or Vince Foster.
However, Fox News polling has shown that, in a hypothetical matchup, President Bush would trounce UOx42 by 21 points.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I read the book 'Seabiscuit' on the flight out. Excellent book, I'm looking forward to the movie also.

The greatest horse who ever lived was Exterminator Wasn't there a movie about him with Arnold Schwartzenegger? Or am I thinking of something else? :-)
One thing in Secretariat's favor is that he holds the course records in two of the three triple crown races and his time in the third one was highly questionable as many people had privately timed him breaking the course record.

I love horseracing. My dad loved it, too. When I was a kid he used to take us down to Churchill Downs in May, when the Speedway opened here, in order to see "real" racing. (He wasn't too big a car fan.)
My dad taught me how to place bets, and when I was 13 he put me in a scarf and sunglasses and let me sneak in and place bets at the window myself. Very cool. I won money. LOL!

Go back and look at post 79.

Oh, no doubt that Secretariat holds records. On the books, he probably is the best.
Exterminator had heart and character, though. He is a personal favorite of mine, since he was bred and trained before all the scientific advances that breeders and trainers use today.

The cruise ship had a little news digest each day for us to read. It was from the
New York Times. No bias there, no sir. I learned that millions of people won't benefit from the latest tax cut, that President Bush is a liar about the WMDs, just all sorts of junk in this little newsletter. I must confess though, I did not miss reading the news at all during the last week.
Dog, I did see that Martha Stewart was indicted. The prosecutors put together a plea bargain for her that would have included jail time, she turned it down. The trial is going to be interesting.
I'm also out of books to read. I'm going to have to go early to the airport and find a book to read. I never run out of books to read, this is an odd sensation. :)
We were all thrilled to read that Howell Raines resigned from the NYT and so did Gerald Boyd. I don't think it will make any difference to the bias of the NYT, but it was nice to hear that they paid for their mistakes.

Ping JohnHuang2, Luis Gonzales or RMdupree if you get bored. There are quite a few FReepers in that immediate area. I hope you have a great time while here.

What did you think of the property?? It was nice, just inside the city limits of Baltimore, but Mrs. Chairman (and she's better at that than I) thought they were asking too much money.

Bye, dear. I had a wee bit more to say, but the ISP totally died and I couldn't get back on. I had to go to the school to write this.
Dog, that's the impression I got. What affect did the track have on the race? Were there any injuries?

Luis Gonzales took us to dinner in Little Havana last Friday night to a Cuban restaurant. What a great evening it was! And then the van driver took us on a little tour of Little Havana and Luis showed us some important landmarks, including the street where half a million people marched in protest against the taking of Elian Gonzales.

Seeking the Truth is very fast with posting the thread. I sat next to he and his wife while we were waiting for the cruise ship to call out our color ticket so we could leave the cruise ship. I'm in the 2nd row, 2nd from the left in white.

I read that Sharon Stone is tapped to play 97 in that movie about her life in the White House. Stone probably thinks it is a great honor to play 97. Gag.

No affect at all on the race.....Funny Cide just ran out of gas.

I've been waiting to catch you on the thread the same time I was here.
Did you feel the earthquake the other day? I think it was in Kentucky but not too far above the state line .... was something like a 4.3 or 4.6.
May God be with you tomorrow!
..... I don't "do" preaching but have taught a lot of Sunday school lessons through the years. I have found that the ones I feel least prepared for seem to go the best because I have to rely more on the Lord than on myself.

From what I heard on the race coverage, I think the last TC winnder was Affirmed. I don't recall hearing the story about him being stolen, etc. ..... that's sad ..... :-(

I was just over on the Hillary and the Time magazine cover thread. Ugh. She makes me ill. Listen to this excerpt:
After She Learns About Monica Lewinsky: "I knew that people were wondering, 'How can she get up in the morning, let alone go out in public? Even if she doesn't believe the charges, it has to be devastating just to hear them.' Well, it was.... It was, for me, an isolating and lonely experience. I also worried that the armor I had acquired might distance me from my true emotions, that I might turn into the brittle caricature some critics accused me of being. I had to be open to my feelings so that I could act on them and determine what was right for me, no matter what anyone else thought or said. It's hard enough to maintain one's sense of self in the public eye, but it was twice as difficult now."
And in another paragraph she says that she and x42 started a conversation in 1971 that is still going on today. Liberals lap nauseating stuff like this up. diotima is convinced that Hillary will win the White House, I'm hoping it isn't true. The Republicans are going to have to be smarter and not blow it with her.
