I saw her on the Fox Sports channel the other day. They have her makeup so God awful it is not even funny. She looked exactly the way I think she should. Evil.
To: ican'tbelieveit
She's always looked like her makeup is applied with a shovel.

Justin's version of Unchained Melody was such a poor second to Clay's I was shocked they allowed them both to sing the same song. Perhaps there was a subtle movement towards Clay.......
At any rate, it worked. Clay is the man!!!

Wahhhhh!! Three hours of trying and I didn't get through once!
Now my turn to rant...last night was the season finale of Gilmore Girls too, and my daughter is totally addicted to that show! So I taped AI to watch afterwards--or thought I had. Good thing I read the thread here, because when I rewound the tape to watch Clay and Ruben, all I had was the last few minutes--the recap! What a bummer! Somehow I'd set the VCR wrong. Man, I hate that I missed Clay doing "BOTW" after all I heard about it here, though I did gete the sample.
Up till Kimberley Locke was escorted out, I wanted to see her go the distance, even though I knew the show was obviously aiming for a male winner this year to counter Kelly Clarkson (like "reality" shows are really real? Have you noticed the male-female tradeoff for the six Survivor shows?) I thought Ruben would surely take it, and to tell the truth, I really liked him. But just watching the recap, I could see the difference. Clay definitely has more range, more presence, more quality.
Of course, if Ruben doesn't win, we'll see the race card played big time.

Did you see that!? It was awful!
Just like when Josh Gracin made the mistake of singing "To Love Somebody" after Clay had already performed it!

I guess Justin was carried along by the teenie boppers who were in love with that androgenous guy from Titanic......LOL, his name escapes me.
How Justin ever got to the finals is a mystery. Where the rest of the kids truly talentless?

There is truly that much of a difference between AI 1 and current AI. The kids this time around truly had much more talent. Last time, we all knew it should be Kelly in the finals from the very beginning. The only reason that Justin was still in the running is the teenage girl factor.
This time, I have been fairly torn between several of them. It saddened me that Frenchie had the "past" history; she is truly gifted. Julia Demato (sp) is incredibly talented but just didn't want the limelight. And Kimberly, she grew just as much as Clay did. I think Ruben has an incredible talent in a certain range, but I don't see him as an Idol.
To: OldFriend
Let's see. Last season there was a bunch of kids who really didn't have much in the way of talent with the exception of Tamyra Gray and Kelly Clarkson. Justin's voice was decent, but what sailed him through was his charisma with the girls!
Seeing him perform now is a real eye-opener as far as his talent goes. If Justin was in this season of AI, he never would have made it to the top 10, let alone the top 2!

I was very sad to see Frenchie go! Her voice was so powerful!
Can you imagine a duet with her and Ruben or Clay? Yowser!

Frenchie hadda go though.
They are smart to sell this as a family show and her pictures on the "Daddy's Little Girl" website are not family-friendly.
I think that that is a good lesson for kids too, if you do stupid things your past might obviate your future success. Frenchia and Charles (or was it the other guy who had to apologize on national TV).

LOL!!! I keep trying and finally got a vote counted at ONE min. to midnight!!!
I thought it my civic duty to vote for Clay!!!
To: pbear8
Absolutely, broke my heart when I heard that news about her. And I pointed it out to my own kids.
To: pbear8
It was Corey Clark. He had assaulted his sister. :(
He was a Justin Guarani wannabe anyway. No great loss, IMHO.

I just downloaded Clay doing Bridge Over Troubled Water because I missed it last night. Not so buzzed about the arrangement, but as for his singing--W-O-W! I sure hope he wins tonight.

LOL! Isn't it amazing how we can remember obscure words and at the same time have these aphasia-type moments when it comes to names?
Leonardo DeCaprio, btw -- but I hope we're not being graded on our spelling, because I'm too lazy to look that up. ;)
Then there's the attention span, or lack thereof....
I've been waiting to hear what Neil Cavuto said about the money American Idol is netting and missed what he said about the cost of commercials tonight. (I think he said $550K for 30 minutes; approaching Super Bowl price, but not sure. They ain't cheap; I know that much.)
