You can keep dialing. They count all the votes no matter when they come in.

:-) See? Now, isn't this much more fun?
OK, I saw it. Ruben seemed sharp intermittently throughout the third song, which I thought was rather dreary. Clay did a terrific job with Here, There, and of course, Bridge. I would have preferred a less Vegas-y arrangement, and lose the choir. But the boy can SING!

Even Seacrest made a quick comment about Ruben sweating tonite. Methinks there is concern there. He seems to be moving more and more slowly as the weeks go by. I suspect he has gained weight.

An exerpt today from Noel Holston-Newsday
The ousted Locke would have been better makeover material than Aiken or Studdard - not just because she's pretty but because her voice will adapt more easily to the expectations of contemporary-hits radio. Studdard is a powerful singer, but he already sounds as mature as Luther Vandross, who never really was a teen heartthrob. Aiken has a fine voice, too, but so does Jim Nabors.
It's hard to imagine Aiken or Studdard making it really big as a pop recording artist - pop, not easy-listening, not R&B - even if either of them looked like Justin Guarini, the vocally limited, criminally cute runner-up in the first competition.
Someone suggested to me that the ideal "Idol" finalist would have Studdard's voice and Guarini's body. I beg to differ. Given the market the producers are gunning for, Locke's voice and Guarini's body - that would be the killer combo.

grrrrrrrrrrr
I missed the first 40 minutes of the show and my husband would not call me on the cell phone while he had it on the TV so I could listen! Now I've spent over 40 minutes dialing for Clay, and can't get thru!

He's dying out because he has been made to do events.
I was at Wango Tango at the Rose-Bowl this weekend. They performed and Reuben could barely walk and looked like he was ready to be wheeled out.
I think he is not used to doing more than sitting and eating.
He can perform the duties required for the job.
On the other side, Clay looks like a Martin Short impersonator with palsy in his left eye when he sings.
I kind of think he has that gay, Barry Manillo thing going on.
I guess they both have strong negatives.

Meant to say Reuben can't do the job if he wins.

Pokey regarding your fitness america; I don't agree. I think Idol has to have the whole package...be able to sing 3 hours nonstop! Ruben can't even get thru 3 songs without breaking into a sweat!

Well, (Dallas Texas here;) I voted CONSTANTLY throughout the 3 hour time frame; Every time I hit the redial button, I got a busy signal 6 times out of ten calls. BUT I WAS able to get through. I dunno how many times I actually DID vote, but it must have been around 300 times or more during the 3 hours. Hope Clay wins !
GO CLAY ~!
