Lone Star Chat
Texas ^ | Saturday, May 10, 2003 | A Texan

Rally for America!

Our Texas Locale page recently got very busy on the unusual topic of Ouija boards and such. Archy suggested a Lone Star Thread That Will Not Die. Like those darn Hobbit threads with 30,000+ posts.

This is not my thread and I'm not going to baby sit it every day. I just gathered the kindling and y'all have to start the fire.

I reckon it oughta be more like "Say No to Liberal Yankees."

Conservative Yankees are just like us, just that they talk funny. I don't mind sharing our great state with them. Just move the liberal gas bags like Molly Puke Ivins out and have quite a few more of those highly wet illegals going back home and then I'd be willing to share Texas with all of our conservative brothers and sisters from the other states.

If I see any shrimp boats I'll be sure and look for his two boats. Won't be around 0400 in the morning though :-)

SA my favorite place to get away to.

It's still one of my favorite places to visit. I have lots of friends to visit there. But, I expect I'll be making a few more trips down there than I have been beginning this fall. My daughter is going into Master's Commission at Victory Assembly of God in Universal City.

Can somebody here tell me how far north 'yankees' come from? I am a Colorado boy myself, does that qualify me as a yankee? And NO, I'M NOT FROM BOULDER!!

Texas, we're suppose to talk about Texas!! Has anybody been to Goliad? A historic small town with two forts, one is La Bajia. Ancient trees left in the middle of some streets!!

They are renovating their courthouse, and cut down all the old pecan trees around it, so you can SEE the courthouse better! There are some oak trees, but it is sad what they did!

You know how to spell "y'all" so I think it should be just fine.

Some of the first photos I took with my first digital camera were prickly pears. They make nice subjects.

Here's the Shiner I owe you for use of your sunset. . .

We are going to this Casa Manana place to try the red tacos this week. When we went there before we didn't try those. It didn't sound like anything authentic so we didn't try it. After years of travel for business I'm always leary of getting served something like the flour tortilla/asparagus mess you described. I think I had a taco salad and Myranda had some nachos. But, the salsa was not spicy at all and that was disappointing. Nothing really struck us as great so we didn't go back. We're going this week now. See, what you always need is a native to tell you what's good. (Want me to have extra for you?)

Has anybody been to Goliad?

Here is an interesting article on Goliad!:

166 years later, Texas recalls the Goliad massacre -
"Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!"

I think it's been 15 to 20 years since I've been to Goliad. But, I thik it's a shame for them to destroy trees!!! A real shame.
