PARIS (Reuters) - Two three-year-old twin boys who disappeared from home then reappeared hours later without their clothes had been off wreaking havoc in a neighbor's empty house, French newspapers reported on Thursday.
Police initially feared an abduction by a pedophile when the missing boys were discovered late in the evening walking through their home town of Deols, western France, stark naked and holding a bedside lamp.
But a call from a neighbor to report a suspected burglary revealed the boys had broken into a nearby house and gone berserk, emptying out drawers, bouncing on beds, scribbling on walls and gobbling up orange-flavored vitamin pills.
The twins discarded their clothes after getting covered in shampoo and toothpaste after a rampage through the bathroom, squeezing out bottles and tubes.
They grabbed a bedside light and took it away with them thinking it would help them find their way home in the dark.
The boys' parents will compensate the house owners, daily Liberation said. It did not say how they would punish the twins.

The twins discarded their clothes after getting covered in shampoo.... Aw, give 'em a break.
It was the first time they'd seen any kind of soap!

I'm jealous. Those kids had the time of their lives with no regard for societal norms (not imprinted yet).
Most children would be all right if adults didn't impart negative garbage to them.

I have a three year-old boy, which is the reason why I have tears of laughter streaming down my cheeks. I can see it happening.

My kids didn't still do things like that at age 3. When they were 2, they pulled all their shananigans. Maybe the Frenchies are a little behind the American kiddos in development. That 'splains the adult froggies, they are WAY behind American adults.

You're certainly right about it being funny b/c it's someone else's house. However, I hate to burst your bubble. My oldest is 5 and the word manageable is rarely used in conjunction with him.

Certainly it could happen anywhere.
But it seems rather fitting that it happened in UNFREEDOM LAND.

An Irish 3-year-old would not take off all his clothes for ANY reason--well, maybe if they were on fire.

I took a friend's daughter to an outdoor nursery-ryme theme park:
Never Never Land where you walk dirt paths from point to point. The little girl is a farm girl, raised in the country. When she had to go to the bathroom, she left the path, went behind a bush, and took a pee! People passed by me and stared. I had to laugh. She had no remorse at all.

Anybody read about the 7 year old who tried to hold up a conveinence store? I read about it somewhere, but can't find it anymore.
He was a real nasty little brat, fought with the police and then his mama came to the store and fought with the owners. The article was conspicuous in it's absence or identifying the perps etnicity.

Something similar happened in the neighborhood that my son lived in Virginia. A 2 year old came up missing. They brought in dogs, and search teams, and searched for atleast 2 days. A neighbor returned home from vacation to find that the child had crawled rhough the doggy door and was in there having a great time, eating dog food with the dog, and making a mess.
