We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
News reports are circulating rumors the Iraqi Information Minister hanged himself a few hours after the Americans arrived in Baghdad.
President Bush is calling on the UN to lift sanctions against Iraq.
General Franks toured Baghdad and greeted troops there.
Drudge is reporting that Marvel Comics is suing Sony, saying the latter has overstepped its license for Spiderman and is asking the courts to revoke Sony's license for use of the trademarked product.
The GOP has polling data that shows Daschle is in trouble in his upcoming re-election campaign in 2004.
And a study by Pew Research shows that 42% of Americans will not be reading the news posted here - now or ever - because they don't use the Internet, and don't believe they ever will. Of course, that means 58% can be reached.
Finally - do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
LET'S ROLL!!!
This guy is a gold mine of info!!!
Ack!! I hate not being able to spend more time here.
Molly ((hugs) and prayers.
Guennie,Northern Yankee; Mr. M., continued prayers for you and yours.
kassie, I missed Raymond Monday night. Was it a repeat?
UG...I forgot you liked Raymond. I remember the episode where the twins were to be fairies. LOL
I happened to turn to CNN this morning for a peek. The caption Bush claims victory even though unrest in the streets!! was enough to get me going without coffee. JERKS!! When did the President claim victory other than Saddam's regime is no longer??? JERKS!!
GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!!
lysie, I was missing you! Did you make a lot of progress outside with the clean-up??
I notice on the News side that now that the war is winding down, all the single-issue people are reappearing, to tell us why Bush has lost there vote forever. Bah! I do not want to engage in this silliness so soon after such a stirring victory. Late last night someone posted a painting they had found of President Bush. I am going to go find it and post it here. Back in a bit.

I think this one project will take us to the beginning of winter if we want to do it right.
The trails where Sarah rides Playboy are covered with downed trees. I estimate about 200 on our property. Good news not all will have to be removed. Some we will just let rot.
Molly, the previous landowner...RR??? I finally was able to track him down. I wrote a letter to his brother's address in California that RR used one time....The brother moved, but had a mailing service so it was forwarded. The brother contacted RR and RR called me. RR was very pleasant and we talked about the war and protestors.
He will sign the release and have it notorized.(sp) :-) The waiting is killing me. :-)
I love Amy's expressions.
AMERICAS WAR ON TERROR Day 584
The news as reported in The Washington Times:
[Note All links go to The Washington Times website.]
1. Ahmen Chalabi, along with 100 followers, entered Baghdad. Mr. Chalabi has been a long-time opponent of Saddam. His move strengthens his position among those vying for power in post-war Iraq.
[It is the time we need to be careful. Over the next couple of weeks, the situation would be so chaotic as to be ripe for another strongman to try and take power something we would have to reject.]
Chalabi's forces enter Baghdad
2. One week after yanking down Saddams statue, the American forces in Baghdad get a visit from the CENTCOM commander, Gen. Franks.
[He may not be flamboyant, but he certainly is now well known. Good job, Gen. Franks!]
Allied commander makes victory trip
3. Since the war is over, and since Baghdad is increasingly secure, it will now be possible to devote some energy to finding out Saddams fate.
[After they find all the pieces, that is.]
Pentagon looks to script climax of Saddam's vanishing act
4. Syria says it will help in the rebuilding of Iraq and that it is not harboring high-level Iraqi fugitives.
[Beware of Syrians bearing gifts.]
Syria pledges to help U.S. in rebuilding of Iraq
5. The Bush Administration promised South Korea and Japan they would be included in multilateral talks with North Korea at a very early stage.
[We all misunderstood shock and awe. It wasnt to shock and awe the Iraqi military, but rather other regimes. It seems to have worked.]
Korea talks to include Tokyo, Seoul
6. Several crew members of the former Presidential yacht Sequoia met on the boat for a reunion. The current owner would like to see the Federal Government repurchase the vessel and make it an historic landmark.
[Yes, that would be a good idea!]
Sequoia sets course for trip into past
7. A class action lawsuit has been filed against the District of Columbia on behalf of all drivers in the city. The subject of the suit is the citys red-light and speed-camera programs. The suit seeks to recover all money collected since the 1999 inception of the red-light program, and since the 2001 inception of the speed-camera program.
[YES! YES!! YES!!! While not normally a fan of class-action suits, I strongly support this one, and hope that if it is successful it is copied in every jurisdiction in America!! These automated cameras are an absolute abridgement of our fundamental right to due process as every jurisdiction freely admits they cannot actually determine who is driving the vehicle. Further, in many instances the jurisdiction cant even figure out the correct car as the photo sometimes smudges the license plate and then they guess! Godspeed to this suit, and prayers for its success to end an abomination of a program! (BTW I would like to offer I am only slightly non-neutral on this subject.)]
Suit filed against traffic cameras
We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.

Wanted to tell you a little about last Friday...
We didn't start out immediately for Indiana, as an old friend was in town again so we got together for Brunch and celebrated our Victory in Iraq...
Then at noon, husband and I left for Miami U. for a long-planned visit, which happily we were able to make, despite all that's been going on...
Alison, William's girlfriend, was having her exhibit and reception as a candidate for her MFA.
So we arrived about 5 p.m. for that and had a wonderful time with her, William, and a number or their friends.
Met Alison's mother and brother...It was all very celebratory, as A. had learned from her profs that her degree would be awarded, and the profs were very happy and complimentary of her work.
Then W., husband and I left for Indiana.
Long day, but very , very nice.
