Molly, it looks like a disaster area here...still. We have about 6 stacks of limbs(not burned yet)...8 feet tall and more coming. I might borrow my uncle's chipper shredder. I hate burning all this stuff. Seems like such a waste.

I think this one project will take us to the beginning of winter if we want to do it right.

The trails where Sarah rides Playboy are covered with downed trees. I estimate about 200 on our property. Good news not all will have to be removed. Some we will just let rot.

Molly, the previous landowner...RR??? I finally was able to track him down. I wrote a letter to his brother's address in California that RR used one time....The brother moved, but had a mailing service so it was forwarded. The brother contacted RR and RR called me. RR was very pleasant and we talked about the war and protestors.

He will sign the release and have it notorized.(sp) :-) The waiting is killing me. :-)

Good news on the release! I've been wondering about that. Your perseverence paid off. Good for you!

As for all the yard work....not exactly what you'd planned to spend so much time on, I'm thinking.

Be safe using all that equipment. Using eye cover, right??

It sounds like your ice storm may have been even worse than ours in December. There are still a lot of trees around here with broken limbs or that show evidence of the weight of the ice. Nature is amazingly resilient though. As spring arrived, I was dumbfounded to see trees that had virtually nothing but a trunk remaining .... but a few little twigs became obvious when they burst into bloom.

..... Good luck with the rest of your clean-up job .... and do be careful. We really don't want to have to open up FReeper General Hospital again.
