I have a cousin somewhere over there with the Marines.
My aunt isn't sure exactly where, he wasn't authorized to say.
I just hope he keeps his head down and comes back safe once this is all over with.


Seeing the guys painting teh flag there reminded me of asmallish skit that was internal in my old unit.
"But Sarge, you said we could decorate the howitzer!"
"Decorate, yes. But I didn't tell you to make it metal flake blue with racing stripes!!"
(We'd gotten slapped down for putting 'names' on the howitzers, like Gun 3 being called 'opressor' and gun one being named after an AC DC song 'Big Gun [#1]'. The Captain said it was 'vandalism'.)

He probably doesn't have all that much time do work on it, probably only a minute or five between work details, chow, and sleep.
This former Army type gives the soldier props.
