AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 718) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | January 8, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 01/08/2003 4:43:04 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our fredom, die in vain!!

There is a new tact from the anti-war crowd in the news this morning. They are calling for bringing back the draft. Reps Charlie Rangel of New York and John Conyers of Michigan have two complaints: (1) the fighting force of the Nation is composed of too high a level of minorities; and (2) they believe the US would deal with Iraq peacefully if politicians knew their children would be the one's in harms way.

The Supreme Court of California has ruled that it is rape even if sex is started with the consent of both adults, but the female changes her mind after the act has actually started.

Charles Pickering has been renominated by the Bush Administration for a Federal Appellate judgeship.

And there are two new ad spots that has been designed by Arianna Huffington of the Detroit Group which suggests that SUV owners are supporting terrorists. From the New York Times:

"This is George," a girl's voice says of an oblivious man at a gas station. "This is the gas that George bought for his S.U.V." The screen then shows a map of the Middle East. "These are the countries where the executives bought the oil that made the gas that George bought for his S.U.V." The picture switches to a scene of armed terrorists in a desert. "And these are the terrorists who get money from those countries every time George fills up his S.U.V."

A second commercial depicts a series of ordinary Americans saying things like: "I helped hijack an airplane"; "I gave money to a terrorist training camp in a foreign country"; "What if I need to go off-road?"

At the close, the screen is filled with the words: "What is your S.U.V. doing to our national security?"

YET (!!!!), these are the very same folks that do not want us to expand our domestic sources of oil by drilling in ANWR. They should sit down and shut up, because they are hypocrites - each and every one of them. Why? Because it matters not what vehicle you drive, a portion of the fuel can be argued to have come from Saudi Arabia - so they are just as guilty following their line of reasoning.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Happy Birthday! Your cheeks don't look THAT chubby!

You are quite right, many people on here actually know me better than some of my acquaintances here in the area. (Not to mention my assorted pets.)

Just dozed off on the couch and woke up to hear Laura introducing President Bush who was commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Education Bill. Five states have submitted plans which have been accepted, and one of those states is Indiana, which I didn't know about! (Must be because the teachers union isn't thrilled with the plan, I guess.)

I am determined to get some more work done around here, so I am going to try to get away from the computer for a couple of hours.

Have a nice afternoon!

lysie, and Mr. M! That is some gift! WOW! And you took us along too!:-))

Mr. M., thanks for the hints on those last 4-5 #s...will pass them on to husband.

The family jungle tom-toms were working well yesterday:

Speaking to Son #1 in the afternoon, I told him about his father's good results due to diet...

A few hours later his uncle - husband's brother - called for more info. on the diet!

Which leads to another question: Can a VERY active exerciser - BIL is mountain biker and spinner -handle this diet, ie., no carbs for that needed quick energy???

Afternoon all.

Bit, thanks for those links...

AND....lysie - Love the photo!:-))

Happy Birthday lysie!!! Have a good one.

My husband was born 40 years ago today. Happy birthday to my honey!

I turn 40 in April...my mother and m-i-l are chomping at the bit for that day. They can't wait to call and rib me about it.

They think turning 40 bothers me. Ha..it doesn't...I don't think.:-)

I am having more carb cravings this last time I was off Atkins. I was off Atkins for Thanksgiving..a total of 4 days. This last time I was off well over one week. I expect the craving to diminish by the weekend.

Thanks, Molly.

Dr. Atkins has a chapter about the myth of carb-loading. Though he admits more study is required he states that a study was done in 1994 that found the low-carb trained cyclists performed equally as well as the high carbs.( during hugh intensity training) Also..prolonged, moderate training the results were that the endurance was greatly enhanced with the low carb cyclists. He also states that 2 other studies suggests that increasing dietary fat from 15% to 42% increases maximum oxygen consumption and endurance capacity.

Wow! Thanks, lysie. that is just the sort of info my BIL can use. The next thing husband needs is a guide to fruit carbs...He is really looking forward to eating some of those again.
