Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I was hesitant to trod on the Midwest Moot Fuhrer's territory, but I would suggest if one was to wait until midsummer to moot, one might be more prudent to at least wait until the TTT DVD is out!

Hi Suzi, what are you up to tonight?

Not much. Just got back from picking the youngest up from Boy Scouts. Had to go by Home Depot to look at some vinyl flooring. We need to replace the kitchen floor, and we don't really want to go the the expense of ceramic tile because we could be moving a couple of towns over within the next year. SSQ's office may be moving, and he wants to be closer to the work, so the commute won't have to be so far. This would also give us an opportunity to either buy a house we can remodel to suit our needs or have one built. We want to do some solar stuff, have under the floor radiant heating, and a more open floor plan than we have now. So I'm gonna start looking at house plans again. Woo Hoo!

Have any clearer ideas? When David was home for Christmas we were talking about that. He's a Junior at CMU, and is also looking into Stanford. He hadn't thought about it that much yet.

Hey, I'm not the moot fuhrer! That was a complete misunderstanding. If you knew me, you'd know what I mean. I tend toward anti-social introversion whenever I get half a chance....:^) (That's why this place is better than therapy for me).

I was just making a quick offhand remark knowing that, 1)OT might be coming out in that time frame 2) She told me to make it MO, so 2J could more easily come 3)G'nad is going to be there then in his new digs.... That's all.

Actually, now that you mention it, a mid to late summer midwestern minimoot might be better located right here in Minnesota, whereas a later one would be better further south... Right now I'm amazed that we'll likely be having a Minnesota moot for at least three of us on Feb 8 or 9.....

Yes, I saw a show on PBS recently about the Vatican, and it said how they are state of the art security professionals now, similar to the Secret Service. They have deadly weapons concealed in those uniforms, and they have to meet and maintain rigorous physical standards, too.... And they have a minimum height requirement of 5'8", so you and I would barely have made it, Sam ;^)

(I remember once before you said you were 5'9"; so am I.)

Well, besides being the head of the Roman Catholic Church, he's also the Head of State of Vatican City, which is a diplomatic entity of its own.

That's great that y'all are so close and can get together! So before the summer, there will have been 3 mini-moots, the Texas one, the Florida one and the Minnesota one! I can't wait for the BIG one in Jan, 2004. The kids are excited, too!
