The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

meet me in chat 2J? (and anyone else!)
To: HairOfTheDog; 2Jedismom; Overtaxed; All
I just get caught up and everyone goes away! It is going into the teens tonight, with winds about 40 mph, so the windchill should get down to about 0!!!
Time to head out to the heated (outdoors) pool and go for a swim.
Some schools will be closed, because they have an agreement with the power company which turns off their electric heating when there is a big load on electric usage, which there surely will be tomorrow am.

I'm here, still cold. My cookies have of course not yet arrived, but I am getting a pile of tax documents about six feet high. I'll be around after dinner, I think, if I can edit a 15 page essay down to a 5 page essay.

Yes, you do need to get yourself another PC....

When her current coat is worn out should I FReepmail you then?Sure, unless you're going to buy her another "pony dress". :)
To: 300winmag
Cute as the pony dress is, she could use a more tailored coat. I do like these Weatherbeeta blankets though.... completely waterproof even in all our rain!

You guys weren't in chat very long....

No, I guess not! - Folk wimped out! Might go back later. I have to clean stalls, others had other excuses!
To: HairOfTheDog
Does that mean you're gone now?

Hi all,
Just dropping in real quick to let everyone know that I have just performed the most vanity-indulging thing known on the internet: started my own blog!!!
If any of you know how to whip this sort of thing into a decent shape, I sure could use your advice!! Just let me know through FReepmail or the mail on the blog.

I went there and there was nobody home. :) Well, about your dog.... I think you can give a dog aspirin. My vet told me one every morning would not hurt a thing and would help ease the pain of my old gal's aches. She used to do similar things when she was in pain. She would follow me around the house, limping, and then only lie down when I would sit down or lie down. Used to tear me up. I couldn't spend my whole day on the floor with her.
I hope she gets feeling better.

I got my cookies and the whistle!
The cookies are fabulous, Hair. They are definitely a better recipe, as you stated. :)
I haven't had a chance to even look at the whistle because Becky spotted it and wishes to claim it as hers. So I have to wait until she's asleep or otherwise indisposed before I can attempt to work on it.
It's already getting cool outside. I opened the door when Glen got home and the breeze is really chilly! It's still at a point where I can say it's refreshing, but that'll change by morning, I'm sure!

Hey ksen, I hear that you don't want to mess with those Swiss Guards, foo foo uniforms or not! Apparently some are now equipped with machine guns, (must be the reason for those loose pants! LOL!) and basically they are just tough hombres!

Hi Suzi, what are you up to tonight? I am taking a break from editing my essay and reading about pseudorandom numbers here. Doing a little more grad school research...

LCS: for the really "thrifty", check out WebTV, you can email and surf like Moon Dogie with one of these little gems. Imagine sitting on the couch or in the easy chair, sharing the HHDs witty reparte's and FOTR news with your significant other or friend du jour, on a big screen or what ever version your television is, not all that great for chatrooms, but for bulletin and message boards, it rocks.

RWRF: A moot in any storm, but have you ever been to MO in August? The comfort factor notwithstanding, I would bet TTT is long gone by then. Still a Midwestern Moot (mini- or midi-) is a capital idea. OK, KS, MO, and MN (we need an IA) any ideas? That is actually pretty close to the old US border in the 1830's.

Well, OT and I are back in there now! Still around?
