Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

And you know what? I'm ok with posting a pic of me! Wait another month, I'll be a size 12, and I'll post a nice pic!
Also I may post one of my sibs just to prove I really do have six.

Whew, thanks for posting all those links! Got them all posted now. 2J emailed me a bunch of stuff too, and so that is the next step. Due to the amount of pics on the page, I will eventually be splitting it onto several pages.

Very cool that you got a flag too!
That's a really nice gesture on their part.

Thanks all for the blessings. They really helped, I have no doubt.
I just woke up.
I went in to my work at 3 am, after packing my bags and battening down the hatches at the house, to secure my office stuff. Someone had already been in and done it, put all the computers on top of our desks. Hmmm. Then when I got home and watched the update the tracking had the storm moving in to the north of me by about 45 miles. Sam, I am actually on a small island right on the water, but we have the barrier islands between us and the gulf, which is a lot of protection but still scary in a storm like this, as there is only one low road on and off the island. And it goes under water at a 2-3 foot storm surge. I ended up staying and I'm glad I did. Scary for a while there, but all we got was wind gusts at about 70 and a lot of rain. We have storm shutters on all windows so we got a little water damage from wind blow rain coming into cracks, but that's all. Lucky me. And sad for those who are a little north of here. They got some damage.

Beautiful flag. That is so nice of them. If I receive one I will let you know right away.

Here's Frodo in the hurricane!" - Crap - there he goes!A foul wind from Isengard approacheth. It's Sauruman!
Though I do not know what strength lies in me, I shall not let fly the little one.

Okay, my clock says Corin's interview is in 2 minutes. I am praying again! Thanks Wn! That would've been about the time I was going up the wrong bank of elevators! But I made it okay.
Dang troll meeting lasted until 3:12. I had to run out of there, close up my office (Windows was NOT properly shut down), run by my car to exchange crap and walk the four blocks to the interview. So, going up the wrong bank of elevators actually helped me cool down a bit so that I wasn't sweating like a pig when I was called. Not my fault about the elevators. Directory said both went to 4th floor for this organization. But both didn't got to the reception area.
I feel pretty good about it, surprisingly. I can say more if we meet in chat (I'm getting ready to take Jr. to Bible study in a few minutes).
But, he told me they were flooded with applicants and I made it to a "very narrow" list. That made me feel pretty good. He didn't give an exact number, but I got the impression I'm one of about 5 or 6.
Would be pretty challenging (like I'd be in over my head), but also pretty exciting.
I think I did okay. Didn't drool or make rude noises (I know g'nad, I prolly won't get it now...). And I don't think I sounded too stupid.
Don't know if I could FReep. But I prolly couldn't continue the blog, well at least not in a political vein. The interesting thing is that politics didn't work against me. Knowing the Director that I interviewed with I was certain that they would. But he knew just about all of my political contacts from waaaaaaaaay back (like almost 20 years) and these are folks for whom he has a lot of respect.
He's not planning on a second interview. I left my portfolio for him to review.
We'll see what happens. Thanks for the prayers. I'll check in later tonite.
(my flag flew on June 25th)

SO glad to hear everything went reasonably well for you, your family and your house!! I hope Frodo will be delivered this week. He arrived in Dallas last night and was supposed to be at your place tomorrow, but Claudette probably delayed things a couple of days!

So, going up the wrong bank of elevators actually helped me cool down a bit so that I wasn't sweating like a pig when I was called. The Lord works in mysterious ways! I use that expression, "sweating like a pig", all the time. I wonder where it came from cause pigs don't sweat. Just something else to make you want to go Hmmm.
Good luck, and if you're supposed to get it, you will!

Thanks for checking in MBY! - So glad you made it through the storm!
Will catch back up later, going out for a steak with my buddy....
To: SuziQ
It's better than "sweatin' like a big, fat, smelly person who eats too much and has poor grooming", isn't it?
