Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

the writers need to read the blasted paperback books

The Keepers of the Franchise have declared that the paperback books are not canon, meaning that the show writers are free to ignore anything stated in the paperbacks. Not sure if that holds for the hardcover books too, but I suspect it does.

I want you to come back. I think the Hobbit Hole should be what you seem to think it should be, a place where we can escape and talk about anything - or nothing. I don't like having to keep a watch list either. I like the spam. I don't like seeing my friends get angry, or hurt, and I think of you as my friend.

Maybe this would be better as a private reply but I really want it on the public record that I think the Hobbit Hole without Corin Stormhands would be a much less interesting place. Maybe I'll just have to pray that you're predestined to come back ;-)

I have to agree with those that think you should come back. We can disagree and still be a family.

Heck, you are part of the reason I'm here now. It was that "All parents who put their kids in daycare are EVIL" thread on FR. You guys encouraged me and invited me over.

There are many times when someone posts something and I think "geeeeeeeeeeeeez, where do they get off...."

We've all spoken out of line, or taken things the wrong way at one time or another .. but lets not throw out the baby with the bath water.

I find MANY more reasons to stay .. than to go.

Maybe sometimes folks just need time to step back, take a break, and give everyone else another chance. I find myself having to hold my tongue sometimes cause I don't think it's my place to chide, but I've always liked the fact that we can let off steam here about other threads, our lives, jobs, families, etc., yeah, and even spam a bit!

It has been like therapy sometimes, and it was usually not directed at each other, but always at someone else. I guess that was the most disheartening thing for me yesterday, but I'm just praying that it will all work out, and that we'll be guided back to each other cause I think we do care about each other. Besides, I'm truly looking forward to Entmoot, and I want us ALL to have a great time!!

By the way, if I may ask the religiously inclined on this forum; the friend I am going to visit is not Christian, and just keep it in your prayers, if you would, that I might be used as a witness to her. Right now all I can do is show her by my deeds.

How foolish. (imho) The paperback authors (Crispin, McIntyre, Friedman, Duane, Carey, Fontana, et al) have put far more time and effort into working out the nice details than a screenwriter ever would- and the lack of good details really showed in Nemesis. Sloppy. Silly. Half-***ed. Really bad movie.
