the writers need to read the blasted paperback books

The Keepers of the Franchise have declared that the paperback books are not canon, meaning that the show writers are free to ignore anything stated in the paperbacks. Not sure if that holds for the hardcover books too, but I suspect it does.

How foolish. (imho) The paperback authors (Crispin, McIntyre, Friedman, Duane, Carey, Fontana, et al) have put far more time and effort into working out the nice details than a screenwriter ever would- and the lack of good details really showed in Nemesis. Sloppy. Silly. Half-***ed. Really bad movie.
