The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Terror alert raised. I've noticed an increase in air traffic up above...helicopters and F16s. Since early this morning. I wondered what was up, because it's been so quiet the last week or so.

Hi, 2J! Any chicken news yet?
To: RosieCotton
No, no news. I'm giving up on them. If they come through, fine. If not, I'll get a couple of chickens somewhere or other.
I've feeling very uneasy about this Orange level. I've been uneasy all day.

Sorry you are uneasy! - As our resident white-knuckler, you always have to get these things first. It is scary always, but I don't have a 'spidey sense' about this one this time, if that helps.

No, no news. I'm giving up on them. If they come through, fine. If not, I'll get a couple of chickens somewhere or other. Well...hopefully it's just a matter of the shipment coming in "3-5 days"...i.e. the shipment just didn't come in on the first day it could be expected. Here's hoping!
Meanwhile, I probably SHOULD be feeling somewhat concerned about the change to level Orange...but instead I'm glorying in the fact that it's in the 80s outside, I'm working somewhere where I can wear jeans and sandals to work (I HATE wearing shoes in the summer!), and I have leftover Chinese food waiting at home. ;-) I'm so shallow...

Don't you suppose the rise in the alert, has to do with the holiday weekend coming up? I think every holiday since 9-11 the alert has gone up.

Maybe so!! Oh WHEW!! I'll bet that's what all the air traffic is about too...
I was just about to wrap us up in plastic and duct tape!

Maybe you are right about the chicks...I'm just not going to call anymore. They have Steve's number if they come in.
I am on my way to the library to get a book about raising chickens. See you all later!

How far along is Jill? When I was about 5 months pregnant with my #2, I got an awful case of bronchitis. The doc said I was far enough along that the antibiotics wouldn't hurt the baby. It didn't and he's just as normal as I am. Oh wait, never mind! ;o)

If folks would like to see places in North-Central Florida, such as Silver Springs, Weeki-Watchee Springs, Homosassa Springs (do you notice a pattern here?) I can lead an expedition there! That would be great. I plan on having my new digital camera by then, and would love to go to some of the more off-the-beaten-path type places.

I noticed a helicopter flying overhead this morning too, as I was on my way to work. I was out at around 10 minutes to five am. I though it was strange for a helicopter that early in the morning.
To: Dawntreader
Hey Dawntreader! Nice to see you around!
Oh, you like Pirates stuff? I could probably get you a ballcap or something... oh, wait, you meant the Pirates movie, not the Pirates baseball team.
I had a good day at work. I'm going to leave for choir early and vote on the way - it's primary day here in PA.

Rose likes watching Vin Diesel in just about anything. or out of anything???
We're through watching now. It was kind of a semi-bummer because we got interrupted in the middle of it.... but the interruption was the guy about my home refinance. I might be saving some bucks.
rose has good taste in guys.

But I am still in full *swoon* mode from Hair's posting of Ml's pic over there. Those eyes!!! Do they make your mouth water?
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
My first grandbaby is due in Nov.:) Isn't that awesome? This is my 4th!!!

Well, it could be nothing more than the Memorial Day weekend coming up...
But I remember right before the war started how the traffic increased up there.

How far along is Jill? Well, Seems like it must be 2 - 1/2 months. 10 weeks. They are concerned about the antibiotics but her respiratory history is bad enough that they gave them to her anyway. I'm old fashioned. I think as long as the antibiotics are not overdone her body and the baby's body will just metabolize out what would be harmful to the baby.
