The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You have to import your wide feet?

No, They've grown up with me.

The shoes, on the other hand, I do have to obtain elsewhere. I guess not enough folks around here have W-I-D-E feet, so they don't carry them in the stores! As I said, though, the prices for those Birkies online are just WAY better than any stores around here would have.

I watched the parade in Steve Largent's office!

Joshua has been hit harder with the sick than Matthew did. He's not kept anything down all day. He's asleep in my bed right now after I laid down with him. Took about 10 minutes of him rubbing my face (he's done that since he was a newborn) and then he was out.

So I'm drinking coffee. Matthew took his last regular "Language Arts" lifepac test today...takes his final one next week. Then it's just finishing up science and History/geography (easy) and we're DONE with 3rd grade!

my all time favorite is still St. Elsewhere.

That was such a good show. Several now well known actors got their break-out roles on that show; David Morse, Denzel Washington, Howie Mandel, Ed Begley, Jr. (ok, so he's a creep, but it was a big part for him) and the young black man, Eric somebody, who played the Custodian, but who was trying to get into college. He has done a lot of directing lately, I believe. I liked William Daniels part a lot, too.

I guess I'll have to add it to my Netflix Queue!

Absolutely! - I love the movie. It is one of those movies where there is not one wasted line, not one moment that isn't really funny. Some of the moments you have to be paying attention or see it a couple times to get.

Good for you and Matthew! I sure hope Joshua gets to feeling better. There's not much that's worse than stomach upsets whether you're a little kid or a grown-up!

Nothing wrong with coffee!

[sip!]

Sorry Joshua is so sick. I hate throwing up more than most things in life. I fight it as long as I can, and I guess when I throw up, I am still fighting it, because I always seem to break all the blood vessels in my eyes. When I am sick that way, by the end of a day I look like I have been beat up, with black eyes.

I could never be bulimic. Too hard on my face.

I could never be bulimic either...too poor! Food costs too much to eat it and then get rid of it! Having been extremely poor in the past, food is very valuable to me! LOL

Besides, I love food. I love the way it tastes, the way I feel when I'm stuffed full of it.

No, bulimia is never gonna happen to me!

Josh is up...slept about an hour and half. Woke up vomiting. I'll see you later.

Well, I had never considered anorexia because of my love for food.... but bulimia on the other hand, would be the best of both worlds if it didn't wreck my face.

I am kidding of course. I had a bulimic friend who was trying to stop but was compelled to, or driven to it, or in a sense just trained to be nauseated by feeling full.

I would take her to dinner and threaten her to just sit there till it passed. I didn't get it. And when I was buyin', it was personally insulting!

Hello all. I had a most excellent day at work. Got to work through knotty programming problems on my own, without a deadline or a customer yelling. We had Chinese food shipped in, and my low-carb beef and brocoli was fabulous. We're getting together programing for a actual, factual customer who's going to pay us money. And tonight is, of course, Matrix Reloaded.

How was your day?

My day was OK! Got some work done, having some chicken salad sandwich, and been feeling very sentimental over on a dead 'possum thread.

The weather is uncertain. Uncertain as to whether it is gonna be good enough to go out and work Bay tonight. Sun breaks one minute.... pouring showers and wind the next.

Huh!

Just came back in from working Bay a bit. He got two days off due to Seattle trips and bad weather! - It has been raining all day here again but it cleared up long enought to get a short workout in.

I haven't worked Miss Cat today. I don't exactly know what type of work she does.
