The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I have a travel scrabble game I rarely use.... we talked about it when I was talking about having 3 sets of Trivial Pursuit, and that I should send a couple of those, but it is such a heavy (weight) game! - Have a travel Backgammon too.

The live feed camera is just covered in filth. But it's not blowing around near as much and someone got rid of that tarp or whatever it was that kept blowing up and obscuring everything.

It was posted as a reply on a thread about an electrocuted cat that got mistaken for a UFO. But I hope this particular kitty is OK, the electrocuted one isn't.

Just to let you know, 2J, half.com orders do not always come in that quickly. I'm still waiting for a book I ordered 6 weeks ago!

Check this out. I just found it on Books a Million. I'm a Club member with them, so I could get the lower price. BAMM

Here's another single volume edition of LOTR. Granted, it doesn't include the Hobbit, but that may not be as interesting to the soldiers. BAMM

One advantage to the 3 book set is that 3 soldiers can be using at once, and just pass the books around as they finish.

Hmmm...that's $2 more? What would four of them be with shipping?

Bear found them here for $10.49:

Good night Sam! Yes, I'll get lots of decks of cards. They have them at The Dollar Tree, two decks for a dollar. I'll get several.

Yes, but it's not the whole set :^(

Wouild it be alright to send a set that is 20 years old? It's a bit marked up but you can still read them.

2J, what's the price we're trying to beat? I'm going to Wal-Mart tonite. If they have them there, I can buy a set or two and ship them off to you tomorrow.

Lord knows it'll be quicker than Paypal...

Mornin' pal.

I know we're at war and it's really whiney of me to say this. But dang, I do NOT want to go to the office today...

But alas, I'm on my way. See y'all in a few.
