Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hello!
Back from choir. You guys won't see me tomorrow. I'm going to a concert after work, Jars of Clay and Caedmon's Call. The concert's a hundred miles away, almost, but those are my two favorite groups ever, so I'm taking my sisters and a friend and we're driving up and back.
I'm only 19 once, after all.

Good ideas with the games! - I think we have this in the right hands!
A question for the chaplain is whether they can get film developed on base.

My understanding is that they mail the cameras home to their families. Then the family gets them developed. It's more of a gift for the families of our service members.
God bless 'em. The jedis prayed pretty hard and heavy tonight.

So are you getting those one-use cameras, then?

Did you say you were sending me some games? Board games or something? Or was that OT?
I saw a cool Scrabble. The pieces snap into place and stay there...then if you get interrupted, you can zip the whole game up in a fold-up nylon attache like bag! It was really pretty reasonably priced, but I thought someone was sending a Scrabble...it was nice, but no sense sending two.

Yes, definitely. Several. They are light and will ship easily.

So far all I've sent is the magazines. Are they there yet?
To: Overtaxed
Not yet. I'll let you know. I try to do that as soon as I get anything in the mail...write right then, so I don't forget!

Jeanne and I went to see Ari speak at a nearby temple here 6 or so months ago, for the Republican Jewish Coalition. The guy is very sharp, very pleasant, makes a good impression.
Strangely, one of my very liberal friends saw me on tv that night, in the audience.
To: HairOfTheDog
I did not make it anything else! I thought I could trust this group when talking power tools. I should have learned from OT's probes. Oh come on! You practically begged me to comment.
And I find your two references above also quite interesting...not that I would comment or anything...

Probably one of the kids fiddling with the keyboard. They've been on a roll today...
Must be the weather, or the moon phase. My little one was supposed to have his picture taken at school today. They brought in live bunnies for the pics. He refused to have his picture taken...
To: libarian
I will definitely see ROTK in the theaters... If nothing else you can see it at Entmoot. We're mooting in Florida next January.
To: Corin Stormhands
They were on a roll!
I took them to the mall and I walked them around till they were exhausted. Ha!

All kinds of big trucks and sirens going off in baghdad...not public sirens...but like ambulance or firetruck sirens.

and every once in a while he lets out a zinger.I love it when he gets into it with Helen Thomas, and he's been doing similar things with Campbell Brown lately.
You're right, Wneighbor, he is such a smart man! He can think on his feet faster than most anyone I've ever seen. He has a terrific grasp of the facts, and can answer most anything he's asked; when he want to, that is! It is definitely to Dubya's credit that he has surrounded himself with such wise folks!
