Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Thanks g'nad, really. I feel good about Logan's whole life and his death.
You guys are meeting April 11? - That is my birthday! - You will have to toast me.... or roast me.... or at least shotgun a beer in my name.

Ahem.... I said it was like sleeping with a vibrator sander! I did not make it anything else! I thought I could trust this group when talking power tools. I should have learned from OT's probes.

I've told mine that God will have everything you need in Heaven. If you need [insert pet's name here], then he'll be there.

FR has not had a specific font style in a long time. The font is whatever your browser default font is, and you can set that to what you like. (except when people specify a particular font in their posts)
If you are in IE, set your font, size and link colors in the Tools-Internet Options-General menu....
My own is set to Arial and the link colors are nice dark red and dark blue colors compared to the default hot pink. But about a week ago, IE lost my preferences and I had to go reset them. Don't know why!

(except when people specify a particular font in their posts) Well, that's what I thought, but why would it just change on it's own? And only on FR? All my other sites are just the same as always...

All your fonts are belong to us!
To: SuziQ
Suzi, you're way too cool. My mom read Dune once, but she'd never make comparisions between it and real life. I like it!
Hi all, bye all, off to choir. I'll check in later.

Very strange singing going on now on the loud speakers...is it almost dawn there or what's the deal? They just bust out singing in the middle of the night? Doesn't sound like call to prayers...real peppy singing!

Hair, I've been so busy and swamped since getting back that I read about Logan but didn't get to send condolences yet. Consider them extended. I've got some old four footed friends that I miss more than usual 2 legged ones too. *snif*
I've determined that no matter what some unenlightened spiritual experts will say, we will see our friends once again sometime in the future. In the mean time, I think the same God that set things up for us to see them again might just send you a vibrating power tool to sleep with at this time of your loss. LOL
To: 2Jedismom
Because other sites have a specified font style, they would not change because your default font got lost.
TORN, for example looks the same for both of us, because they have a defined style. Most sites do. This one doesn't because everyone complained so much about whatever JohnRob chose, so he removed almost all the styles so people could make it whatever they want! My default font does not affect how TORN looks. Your setting just got goobered somehow.... Change to what you like and save it.... and your world will be perfect again.

I figured it out! All that happened was my font SIZE got shrunk! I just set it back on medium instead of smallest!!
Probably one of the kids fiddling with the keyboard.

Anybody hear Ari Fleisher's press conference this afternoon? He was grilled by mediaboobs about why humanitarian aid isn't being off-loaded into the harbor at Basra. He explained that the Iraqi's had mined the harbor. So, those mediots spent about 10 to 15 minutes trying to get him to say Pres goofed up in getting aide over there and it's our fault that citizens may starve. It was deplorable!!!! It got so bad that Mr. Fleisher finally had to say that if the ships went into the mined harbor, they could blow up, sink and all that food and water would be lost. Still they tried to force him to say it's the President's fault. Just wondering if anyone else heard this?

Hi all, bye all, off to choir. I'll check in later.Well thanks honey! Since I am truly old enough to be yo Mama, I take being called 'cool' as a high compliment!
I just remembered I have choir practice tonight, too. I'm in the Festival Choir; we sing for Midnight Mass and for the two Masses on Easter morning. I haven't joined the regular choir because I just didn't want to make that weekly commitment. This group is an awful lot of fun, and we've gotten much better in the 8 yrs. we've been singing together.
