Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

My son plays Age of Empires. He has a couple of them. He also plays some other conquerer type games online. If ya'll do this I would be interested in joining. He can help me get it going, and learn how.

Ok, let's set up a TENTATIVE date for Saturday, 3/22/03 at 9:00 EST and 8:00 CST. That is a week from this Saturday.
If anybody wants to try it earlier, let me know. Now that I have it, I'm anxious to play, plus getting beat by you guys is better than getting beat by the computer. ;^)

I can probably do it then, though that's the day we're playing for the benefit concert, so I'll have to wait and see...concert isn't until the evening, though.
One quick question, though...do we all have the same version? (Original AoE, Rise of Rome, whatever, plus version number?)It won't run unless you do, or so I've found when doing the IP type of connection.

I only have the original Age of Empires (v.2.0 as I recall) and Rise of Rome...don't think they're the same thing. So...I'm probably out, unless I pick up a copy in the next few weeks. :-( Maybe I can check if Staples carries Age of Kings in the bargain section?

I know Best Buy has Age of Kings as a stand alone for $20.00 and for an extra $10.00 you can find one with the Conqueror's Expansion CD packaged with it.
