Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Sweet horse kisses! - Thanks! - Good morning!
To: Lil'freeper
Well you may have a big ole flame war starting now.... so that will keep it bumped! - I don't know how many will actually do the survey!
To: Corin Stormhands
Thanks Corin!
I was thinking that they would use radiation on him as well, but I guess I was wrong. Maybe they want to be overly aggressive with it. Who knows?
I'm praying he'll beat it and beat it quick! :)
Psssstttt..I made an extra platter of bacon for you. I hid it in the oven!
To: HairOfTheDog
The survey questions were so vague I wasn't exactly sure what they were asking.
To: Overtaxed; RosieCotton; rugerman
Good morning Overtaxed! Good morning Rosie!! Wave to Rugerman, I'm sending him a screen cap of how you reply to more than one person...
Rugerman, when I hit reply to Overtaxed thread, it automatically put her name in, but I can still ping other people, like Rosie and you to the thread. I have to manually type in their names in the box above...put a semi-colon to separate each name.
Next I'll show you how to put reference text into a reply...

Just as long as I'm not the one getting flamed....
To: Overtaxed
Well, the kid is 14/15 at a public school. They don't teach writing skills anymore. Well, they do. But the kids aren't exactly expected use those skills....
To: Overtaxed; Lil'freeper
I have no clue what he is asking! LOL!
To: Lil'freeper
It also seems to assume that I (as a survey recipient) am familiar with these activists and their agenda.
To: Lil'freeper
This survey was penned by a teacher, right?
To: 2Jedismom; rugerman
Hello! Good Morning!
To: RMDupree

To: Lil'freeper
Actually, I don't *really* fault his writing skills. It just reads like a kid at that clumsy stage where he hasn't really gotten his head around the issue, but is trying to make the questions sound like he knows what he is talking about.
To: RMDupree
Ruthy! - Good morning!
Good optimistic news about your cousin!
Thanks for the breakfast!
To: 2Jedismom; rugerman
Next I'll show you how to put reference text into a reply...This is how you put in reference text. You have to manually type in all the html yourself. The html for links and such will be automatic if you don't put any other html in!
This is the html you used to post a LINK. You know the html for a picture, right?

This survey was penned by a teacher, right? No. I believe it was written by the young man, but passed the muster of the teacher. Sad, huh.
To: Lil'freeper
Yep....sad.
To: HairOfTheDog
It just reads like a kid at that clumsy stage where he hasn't really gotten his head around the issue, True enough, you're far more charitable than I.

The computer guys really gang up on you, no?They sure do. I played a game as the Teutons last night against two computer opponents. I took Bear's advice and built walls around a large area so I'd have room to breathe.
The computer guys made a few tries trying to breach my walls, but a couple towers, some archers and horsemen stationed at each gate kept them at bay.
I eventually built up a LARGE army of Paladins, Teutonic Knights, siege engines, Champions, and Cavalry Archers. I think I had about a 50-60 man army. I wiped out the red guy and as soon as my army got into the outskirts of the green guy's town he abdicated.
There's something to be said for peace through superior firepower. ;^)
