Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

LOL! I know! - She will forgive us I think.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm fixin' to call her!
I don't know where she works!
To: 2Jedismom; Overtaxed
I've already searched for her name on Classmates.com to see if she had a work profile so I could track down where she works.
I found her (I think) but she has no profile. :(
OT - check in please!

I am not sure she would have even said the name, even with all this moving talk.
But this is a manufacturing plant, they make rubber parts for syringes and medical stuff....
It think OT is in the chemical residue business... I don't know why I think that.

She lives NW of Raleigh.... this is SE of Raleigh.
I don't think our mad scientist did it.
To: HairOfTheDog
I suspect they are all glued to their sets...what time does she actually go home?
To: 2Jedismom
half hour - 4:00 local.
She doesn't have a long commute... She usually seems to get right home.

But we've lost 19 lbs!!!!!! That's how much I've lost, too, Corin, but then I have about 81 more to go! Ah, well, it's a day to day thing, isn't it?
To: Corin Stormhands
I've toyed with the idea of circulating it amongst the interested Hole dwellers...I'd love to see this Christmas Spectacular!

Here comes SuziQ through the posts of the day!

Steve has school tonight...

That was pretty discouraging when he was elected majority leader again. Kind of like rooting for a football team that always loses through stupidity.Yeah, but thankfully, his own stupidity took care of that! I'm glad he's not Majority Leader anymore. The RATS don't have him to focus on and beat Dubya with!
To: HairOfTheDog
The kids were pretty shook up too, and dogs are good for that.It sounds you helped those you could do the most for at that point in time. I'm sure it did a world of good for those kids.
To: SuziQ
Hi SuziQ.
The Democrats are alot more blatant about being leftists these days, lots of people in the street don't seem to care, though. Were they unusually rude last night, do you think, or is that just standard stuff for a SOTU speech?
What method of weight loss are you using?
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
He's posessed with Brian Jacques right now, the Redwall seriesI loved to read those books to the kids when they were younger (10 and 8 at the time) They like the swashbuckling bad guys and the descriptions of the feasts at Redwall Abbey! I used to do what I thought were the 'voices' of the characters. The moles were cockney in my mind, and the hares were 'veddy British military'. SSQ used to laugh at me when I'd go into the accents.
I always got fahklempt at the ends of the books because either one of the good characters died, or something very emotional would happen. My son would hear the change in my voice and say "Mom's getting fahklempt!". He still does that today if he hears that tone in my voice when I'm reading something or recounting an emotional event.
