Ahh yes, another one of the many reasons I hate the holliday season: crappy Christmas music by an obscenely overrated band.
Go for Trans Siberian Orchestra, at least they're honest about being a 2nd rate ELO ripoff. Not much better than MS, but every little bit helps.

Bing Crosby, anyone ?

They are the ONLY reason I don't listen to Rush during the Christmas season.

Thank you for this; I've been trying to find their
website.

mp3.com streams a lot of nice Christmas music- seach for Chistmas channels. Mannheim Steamroller does get a little stale after a few years.

The classics, all Christmas music should be sung with a tumbler of scotch on the rocks in hand. Or it should be totally out there like Jimmy Buffett's Christmas album. The most important part is that the artists should have a career OUTSIDE of Christmas music, so they actually know how to make good songs.

Tumbler of Scotch. Sounds pretty good.

You should hear the "Destiny's Child" version of Silent Night. It will make you just want to shrivel up and die, it's so bad...
Give me Bing, Sinatra, Mathis, Clooney, or Como any Christmas...

Well OK, I guess some people in "the biz" never figure out how to make a good song.

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't stand that Mannheim Christmas Noise.

I won two tickets to a Mannheim concert a couple of years ago by answering a trivia question correctly (Hopalong Cassidy's horse's name) on a radio call in show.(10th caller)
Figured, what the heck I'll just give them away to one of my customers. I offered them to over 20 customers, people at church, the checkout girl at the quickie mart store and the local postmaster and NOBODY wanted them. I wound up throwing them away after the concert.

They are the ONLY reason I don't listen to Rush during the Christmas season. That's funny. Will have to tell a friend of mine he is not the only one!(I don't listen for other reasons). Not to start a rush bash here but he tries to be oh so worldly and sophisticated with his talk of private jets, cigars, golf and tales of the celebrity hobnobbing and then betrays his lack of sophisication through his low brow and uncultured choice of music, among other things. I don't usually comment on other people's tastes but then most are not as pretentious as he is.

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't stand that Mannheim Christmas Noise. No wonder I don't enjoy this forum, like I used to. Too bad, used to be a place with something to say, now just gripe and putdown.

There is not enough alcohol in the world that would enable me to listen to Mannheim Sheissroller. If I had a link, I wouldn't give it to you. Heck, I'm even tempted to click 'Report Abuse' on myself just for typing this . . . .
