I got an email from her just this morning. She has marched in her first half-time show. She said she did... okay. She'll get better as time goes by.

I am concerned over her finances. We thought we had things fairly squared away, but then Auburn upped tuition and her first sememster's books cost $300, not the $200 that I had guessed at. Hmmm. She needs a job.

I want to stress, I am concerned, but not terribly worried at this point. There are options to pursue. It was just disappointing.

Thats understandable...the cost of books these days is crazy IMHO. I see the cost of the books issued the cadets here and my head spins.

Some notes and mussings regarding Ft. Lee...

Ft. Lee is stuck between Petersberg and Hopewell. It sits adjacent to historic Petersberg National Battlefiled. Richmond is the only close airport, with few direct flights to anywhere.

Virginia State U. is the closest 4 year school, although if you go an extra 15 miles Vigirnia Commonwealth U. is in Richmond, and a good 4 years school (I graduated from there many years ago). There is also the U. of Richmond.

If Eric is in AIT, he will not be allowed a POV (vehicle), but getting to and from Ft. Lee will require a bus, shuttle or taxi. Taxi the most expensive of course.

Let me know if I can provide any additional info.
