I got an email from her just this morning. She has marched in her first half-time show. She said she did... okay. She'll get better as time goes by.

I am concerned over her finances. We thought we had things fairly squared away, but then Auburn upped tuition and her first sememster's books cost $300, not the $200 that I had guessed at. Hmmm. She needs a job.

I want to stress, I am concerned, but not terribly worried at this point. There are options to pursue. It was just disappointing.

Thats understandable...the cost of books these days is crazy IMHO. I see the cost of the books issued the cadets here and my head spins.

Thanks for the info on LD. I'm thinking that as the season progresses, LD will be doing that halftime routine in her sleep! She'll get very proficient.

As to finances, it's been our sad experience, that expenses are usually higher than expected.

Now, for example, when we sit down in the late spring to work on this particular part of the budget, we always add more.

You see, often at that time, the university still hasn't figured out its tuition schedule for the following year.

Sometimes, it's a few more weeks...early summer... when it does, and typically, it's a percentage point or 2 higher than first thought.

And books!! Oh brother...

some comfort, peace of mind, solace ... *grace* might be a good thing ... while maintaining a Justice is always done ... whether it comes from one man to a million ... or from a million to one man 'tude ... which is always appropriate, of course.
