Disgraced ex-con and Democratic former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Sunday urged voters to cast ballots for Republicans, griping that socialists such as Zohran Mamdani have “hijacked’’ the Dem Party.
Blagojevich — who was convicted of selling to the highest bidder the Senate seat that Barack Obama vacated after his 2008 presidential election — seethed to the “Cats Roundtable” radio program, “It’s not the Democratic Party anymore.
“It’s a socialist party,” said the ex-gov, now a self-described “Trump-O-Crat,” while discussing his new book, “Framed, F*cked, and Freed: A Governor’s Odyssey” on the 770 WABC program.
“The Democratic Party has been hijacked by socialists and communists who hate America. If you want Mamdamis all across America, then stay home and allow the Democrats to win the midterm elections,” he said of New York City’s far-left mayor.
“But if you want to make our country great again, and protect it from people who would destroy our country, then get out there and vote” for Republicans, Blagojevich told host John Catsimatidis.
President Trump commuted Blagojevich’s 14-year prison sentence for political corruption in 2020.

I had a client who did time with Blagojevich and said that he was a stand-up guy.
That said, I doubt that ex-cons’ endorsement’s carry much weight, especially one whose been away from the national stage for decades.
Well, at least Blagojevich is telling the truth about the Islamocommie Party.
AND I wouldn’t doubt that some democrats, who saw their party usurped by horse manure, are pissed and WILL vote republican.
Mark my words.

He has been an occasional guest on various prime time shows for several years. He brings a fairly conservative slant and seems to have knowledgeable opinions.

Some may claim Blago before prison is different than Blago after prison, but one thing is clear: he loves this country. And anymore, that is the #1 test because we’re surrounded by those who don’t.
He also understands loyalty.
I lived in Illinois when Blagojevich was caught on a wiretap uttering his famous words. “The Senate seat’s a ****ing valuable thing. You just don’t give it away for nothing.” This is a reminder of how wildly the Democratic party has gone downhill into an extremist abyss, that even this guy is saying “vote for the other team” now.
It would have been more journalistically honest for NYP to have said, “ex-Democrat former Governor...”
He’s still as sleazy as he always was, but ever since Democrats threw him in jail for not picking their preferred Socialist for the Senate and Trump subsequently pardoned him, he has not been a Democrat.
And the clients he represents are just as crude, corrupt and self dealing. They aren’t socialists obviously but when Blagojevich is leaning on the president for pardons in several cases I don’t know what we would expect him to say.
I kind-of like Blagojevich — Especially since he is so dead right about the democrats.

He made huge mistake and paid the price. He redeemed himself..
I would trust him.
He could redeem himself best by running for Durban’s senate seat. Worth a try. It would have at least used up valuable rat resources. Run as an independent.
