A slew of AI-powered gadgets on the market aims to integrate artificial intelligence into our daily lives like never before.

Bee is an affordable pendant priced at $49.99 that can either be clipped to your clothing or worn like a fitness band. This device records everything it hears and learns your routines and preferences to create reminders and notes for you. It even features a mute button for those times you want some privacy.

The companion app...allows you to interact with Bee directly and ask it questions. You can also get key takeaways from your day and chronological transcripts of your conversations.

...

Friend is one of the most hyped entrants in the “personal AI” device market.

This $129 white pendant hangs around your neck and functions as an emotional support companion. It recognizes your tone and mood, allowing you to chat with it as if it were a friend. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth and constantly listens, ready to respond or send you proactive messages, like wishing you good luck before an interview.

...

Formerly known as Rewind, Limitless is another conversation-recording pendant priced at $99.

This device continuously listens, transcribing meetings, calls, and conversations (with consent) into searchable and summarized knowledge. It’s ideal for professionals, especially journalists, looking to recall important discussions.

...

Omni

Priced at $89, this device can answer your questions, summarize your conversations, create to-do lists, and help schedule meetings. Additionally, Omi is constantly listening and running your conversations through ChatGPT, allowing it to remember the context about you and offer personalized advice.

Omi can be worn as a necklace, but another notable aspect is that it can be attached to the side of your head with medical tape and can detect when you’re speaking to it.

Pass!

But everyone needs to be on the lookout for these horrid devices.

Amazon has one that looks like a fitbit.

People seem to be getting weirder. More mental illness. More political extremism. More rancor between males and females. No one wants to work in retail because working with the public has gotten so unpleasant.

And now they have wearable AI devices which can talk to you and be your best friend.

Interpersonal relationships are going to become a lost art.

Do they have anything that will make sure the bullet hits where you want it to?

The problem with these devices is that they dont just record you and your world, they record everything they hear. People around you as well. Like an audio body cam.

Scary intrusion.

Only a genius could get morons to pay for a product that invades their privacy.

No, but you’re thinking rightly. Instead all the Tech Bros(tm) want to sell us are ways to scoop up our lives’ data and send it to their servers.

If you’re worried that the Internet doesn’t already have enough personal information on you, ... here’s the remedy.

When I first heard about ‘Big Brother’ and ‘The Mark of the Beast’, I figured that most people would be forced into it at gunpoint, or starved into it. Never did I imagine that millions of people would not only embrace the concept, but actually be willing to pay big bucks to participate.

Plus, now that I think of it some more; with AI listening to millions people’s everyday inane conversations and learning their routines, the sooner the AIs will come to the conclusion that most people are a waste of oxygen and a useless waste of other natural resources, and decide to try to wipe us out even sooner than planned.

Yep. There are people who will wear these all the time, recording every interaction and allowing AI to then respond for them. They will become literal AI zombies, tools deferring to AI commands and thoroughly unable to think for themselves. I can’t help but feel that we have seen the peak of humanity, and that with AI coming to replace what would otherwise be human communication, it is in the rear view mirror and fast disappearing.

Or, imagine this: All personal communications (’Data’) are collected by these devices. This happens whether one is wearing one or not, as every sound is recorded and our locations are tracked using our ‘phones’, vehicles, and cameras everywhere. AI will put together a ‘profile’ for every human being. We will be ranked in terms of apparent intelligence, our good points, our weaknesses, etc. This information will be used in very evil ways to control humanity. (I wonder if AI could write us a movie screenplay, with this as the plot?)

My ex-girlfriend could do all that - and more.

" (I wonder if AI could write us a movie screenplay, with this as the plot?)"

I'm sure it could.

Youtube, BitChute, etc. are already overflowing with AI productions of videos, even occasionally, full movies. Some are quite realistic at first glance... but so far, most quickly or eventually reveal themselves to be AI 'slop'... But in another year or so, it will take an expert eye to figure out what is real, or what is 'Memorex'
