Explanation: Is our universe haunted? It might look that way on this dark matter map. The gravity of unseen dark matter is the leading explanation for why galaxies rotate so fast, why galaxies orbit clusters so fast, why gravitational lenses so strongly deflect light, and how visible matter is distributed. The featured image from the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium Space Show, Dark Universe, highlights one example of how pervasive dark matter might haunt our universe. In this frame from a detailed computer simulation, complex filaments of dark matter, shown in black, are strewn about the universe like spider webs, while the relatively rare clumps of familiar baryonic matter are colored orange. These simulations are good statistical matches to astronomical observations. In what is perhaps a scarier turn of events, dark matter -- although quite strange and in an unknown form -- is no longer thought to be the strangest source of gravity in the universe. That honor now falls to dark energy, a more uniform source of repulsive gravity that seems to now dominate the expansion of the entire universe.

Whoa.
“ There is no dark side in the moon, really. Matter of fact, it’s all dark. The only thing that makes it look light is the sun.”
“is no longer thought to be the strangest source of gravity in the universe. That honor now falls to dark energy,”
Just as I had it all figured out, they change everything!
“baryonic”
Just expanded my vocabulary
Sounds kind of like an unpleasant medical procedure.
Hmmmmm...our universe is controlled by matter we cannot interact with, and energy we cannot harness. Both of these entities haven’t been scientifically proven to exist yet. We can only use these “properties” to explain phenomena our standard understanding cannot explain. We have come a long way, haven’t we.
IMHO.
“The dark matter made me do it!”
“The dark matter made me rob that store!”
“The dark matter made me take those drugs!”
“The dark matter made me gamble!”
These are the veins that allow interstellar space travel possible.
Maybe that’s where God sends people into the outer darkness.
it’s ‘mind over dark matter’ ‘if you don’t mind, the dark don’t matter’
So there IS anti-gravity and it's being used to explain the previously unexplainable.
